Zylr cue

Hello everyone!

I'm new here, but certainly not new to the game. I recently found out that Kerry Zeiler died last year and was very saddened by that. For a time I considered Kerry a friend and even had him build a 58 1/2 20oz cue for me. I looked for other Zylr cue owners, to no avail as they appear to have become very collectible. Does anyone know what my cue is worth or where I can find others like mine? Maybe in seeing other Zylrs in play, it can soften the blow of Kerry's loss to me.

He was a great guy!

Hi, I'm Joey.
I was Kerry's lone apprentice.
Kerry was getting around $950 for his players' cue around 2009.
He charged a little more for buckhorn ferrules .
Leather wrap option would have been around $150.
You have a black stained curly maple cue with purpleheart under that leather wrap ( most likely pplheart if it's 19+ oz'r ).
Kerry was a great guy indeed.
And a hell of a maker.

Part of my intent of my post was to be able to value my cue considering the master died. But mostly it was to contact with other Zylr owners and possible meet up to shoot. I'd love to get all these great playing cues together now that they're becoming scarce! PLease accept my friend request, and I will do yours. I'd love to talk more about your apprenticeship with Kerry as I knew him for a long time and knew two other apprentices as well.

Another Zylr friend hopefully!

Just sharing mine.

Me being the second one after the first one didn't make the cut. :-)

Maybe one of these days at Danny K's.
A few shooters there shoot with Z's.
Gerry, Ron S, Ron , Geejay, Manny and Bebot among them.

Me too!

I am a big fan of Kerry's work........

I'm especially proud of this work since I contributed to its creation right up intil the very end! Part of my intent of my post was to be able to value my cue considering the master died. I have 3, Danny K's in Orange, CA is definately the place you will find the most Zylr cues, although mostly everyone in that room now play with Kent Davis cues
