MAN those are pretty. What kinda wood is that?
Dave those are ropey bubinga. Yes, they are pretty. Takes a lot of work sanding to a nice clean level.
They're a little lighter and softer than your bocote.
They hit nice. A shade under purpleheart's hardness. Harder than straight-grain maple or any maple but still has nice ping to it.
A 19 oz. cue with this wood with purpleheart handle or some hard rosewood variety would hit just sweet. Ivor-X ferrule and Moori or Everest tip would finish the job. :)

Damn, where that come from?
I know who is winning the auction though.
It'd be hard to beat him. He wants one badly. Real nice gentleman and a very devoted follower of this sport.
People say hit of the cues are subjective. Somehow some cues are reputed to hit well. ;)

$750 and its only been on for 3 hours!! That is insane.
Don't worry. It'll get to $900 or so. :D
Some people prolly have this auction on their bid-sniper right now.
It'll get crazy the last 10 minutes of the auction.
This one is a little rarer though. UniLoc pin and leather wrap.
Oh, Mr. Z's phone has not stopped ringing.
The Thunderbolt Lightning Hit has caught on like wild fire. :D

Had someone offer me 1100$ for mine the other day. Turned him down without hesitation. Sweetass cues, get one if you can.....
JC--I assume those in your pics are spoken for?

That Zylr is lovely...
Wonder what's the final bidded price?
Ivan I hope you win it.
If you win it btw, it might be worth the trouble and some dollars to have one ferrule replaced with Ivor-X. I believe that one has a melamine ferrule.
The soon to be former owner of that cue is local here.
Good luck.

ZylrCue on e-bay.

The cue on e-bay has melamine ferrules if I remember correctly. The gentleman that is selling it does live locally so whoever ends up with the cue can have him bring it over to me for Ivor-x ferrules at a reduced rate ($25.) before he ships it to you. If you want Moori tips that will be a little more.
The only reason he is selling it is because he has another of my cues made from African Olivewood that he says he will "never sell". Plus he has one of my Ropey Bubinga cues on order. I suspect that he will probably always have an order pending with me.
Good luck bidding. Take care and shoot straight.
