ZYLR on eBay

He's going to regret sellin this cue.
By next week. lol
I know. I can't understand why he is selling it. I love the way that cue plays. He still says he misses the Zylr sneaky pete he sold 6 months ago. Shane is definately looking forward to receiving your cue though. He really prefers a wrapless cue that is probably his main reason for selling.

I didn't know that was Shane's.
One of the last UniLoc's Kerry made.
Great hitting stick. I still have my b'eye Z.

The beauty of the b'eye.
Oh, this cue hits so sweet, it makes players cry.

Higher

Only one day left now. Anyone think it'll get higher than $1250?

No, I dont--considering KZ doesnt use unilok anymore, Im not a big fan of that joint, very sensitive to any dirt or impact. Its only a 1050 cue? If it were wrapless Id say more likely (but then he wouldnt be selling it!)

Forgive me for saying this...but no. If it gets any higher I would be pleasantly surprised. It is just a plain cue, but it is a Zylr.

Someone usually bids at the last minute, so I expect it to sell around 1100.

Ain't nothing for me to be wrong about it though...it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. ;)

If you'd hit with one, you might just sell your other cues.;)
It happened to me. Sold all of my cues after getting a Z.
All except a cue owned by Efren one time.

I'm not a fan of the uni-lock joint either. My retired, ignorant cue pimp buddy had no less than three SEARING'S with the "uni" joint and ,IMO, the pick of the litter's hit was mediocre at best. Sw301-93

I really don't think the pin has a lot to do with the hit.
The collar has more to do with it ( tips, ferrules, taper and wood used considered of course ).
As long as the joint is tight and the faces are square, you might not be able to tell what pin is being used.
A friend of mine a Zylr curly maple with purple handle with leather wrap on top of it ( Uniloc pin and stag collar ) and it still hits pretty sporty.
But, as mentioned, if the insert has dirt in it, it might lock up on you.
It happened to Zylr one time. A cue he was making would not unjoin because the brass insert chipped somehow. It took some oil and scary twisting to unjoin the cue. That was it, he quit using UniLoc from then on.

I think you are right. Generally speaking I have always disliked the 'hollow' sounding hit with most cues having a Uniloc joint. That being said, I have hit with two that had them where the hit was spectacular....a Searing and a Josswest. Believe it has much more to do with the maker, materials, and their tolerances than the pin itself.

Ya know what's funny? I tell people that about Kompan's all the time. I guess they do play nice...but for that kinda money, it better have a SW cactus on the pin.

I'd take a Zylr over a SW any day....
