For pure feel, which wrap is best between Wild Stallion, Bison, Spanish Bull or Shrunken Goat?

I read about road players in the 50's applying bees wax to the fresh linen wraps and using a hotel iron to melt the wax into the linen.

I've started doing this with pure beeswax block and a hair dryer and it seriously makes the linen better. Even after the "tack" of the wax has faded the linen just feels better, less slick, and more grip.

I highly recommend this approach.
Would renaissance wax work or is that a bad idea?

Why All the DONUTS on Dr. Dave’s Table? AWESOME DRILLS for Players of All Levels!

Here is a drill a friend of mine suggested for me, he is a very good player, and I am an intermediate player. You congregate all 15 balls at least one diamond out in every direction from the rail, and with ball in hand, you pocket all the balls without the cue ball touching a rail. It's a little more difficult than one might imagine, but it really improves your touch shots around the table to get proper cue ball positioning. Anybody use this drill at all?
1) all balls positioned at least one diamond out from every rail.
2) ball in hand to start.
3) pocket all the balls in any order.
4) if the cue ball touches the rail, or you miss a shot, it is a foul.
5) count the total number of fouls you have at the end of pocketing all 15 balls.
6) If you miss a shot and hit the rail it is still only one foul for that particular turn.
7) no cussing allowed! 😀
I just completed four racks of this particular drill and averaged two fouls per round. It's not easy keeping the cue ball in an area where you can pot balls and still not hit a rail. That's what makes rule # 7 so difficult!

I only like Irish linen or no wrap at all. The Irish linen I buff with butcher's wax to give it a tacky feel. I've had numerous leather wraps over the years and I really hated them all.

Dang, I installed simulated elephant ear leather wrap on a Pechauer I have, and have been wondering if I could shoot better if I actually had real elephant ear on the cue? I knew something was holding me back! 😉
You can still feel the elephants deep and profound death spams as as the villagers jammed the spears into its heart every time you grab my cue.

When you grab simulated EE you just feel the bolt gun being fired into the dulled brainpan of an overweight heifer.

My cue inspires you to play your best so you too can avoid that fate.

ONLY inspiration that comes from Simulated is an overwhelming desire to order a salad....

Funny pic/gif thread...

I’m more interested in the make met of your garage door opener. Getting that open is an impressive feat.

I think everything on social media is staged, I used to build igloos by putting 2 pieces of plywood to form a corner and fill it up w snow so if you had 6 - 8 inches you could make it look like 5 foot in a small area.

I like the look of the leather elephant ear wrap on my stick, that's probably the main reason I put it on there. Also, I like the feel of it as well, it gives me plenty of grip or slide depending on what I am looking for. I wonder if the op uses the real animal leather or simulated, not sure what he is alluding to. Just for the fun of it, I attached a photo of my particular wrap, simulated elephant ear.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I don't believe you fear that I believe you HOPE that after you watch me kicking your ass on the pool table....
You probably could lick my ass.

But poors like you always overstate their game as a way of compensating for both a lack of natural talent and financial wherewithal.

Spend more time practicing on your quarter a game tables, and call me when you grow the fuck up.

Oscar on the Boom and Freezer podcast

I just stumbled upon this. I think it was about 4 months ago.

What a great interview with Oscar as usual. Oscar is such a great representative of professional pool.

He spoke candidly at the end about the whole JA debacle.

Oscar mentioned that the worst part of this situation was watching the demise of one of his hero's.

Which I would think that most pool fans share the same sentiment.

The amazing part of this situation is the debt is only 6500.00

I'm just blown away that someone in JA's world with wealth didn't step up and square up with Oscar.

I'm not suggesting they had any obligation, but to watch a legend, that they called a close friend be publicly vilified over 6500.00 is very sad.
