stats based on cut angles available?

I know of no database for this, but if you are looking for raw data there are plenty of tournament videos on YouTube. Look for the ones with overhead camera views used on every shot. It would not take long to analyze a few hundred shots. Keep in mind that the pros use steeper angles than recreational players because they are advantageous for position play and pros are able to handle thinner cuts (that amateurs miss).

Using the overhead views, I looked at a bunch of bank pool matches and found that the pros have a strong preference for crossover banks and avoid non-crossover banks with a cut angle over 15 degrees. However, I never did figure out why these 98% shotmakers only hit 35% banks. I found it pretty easy to estimate cut angle from the overhead video, so you may want to give this a try.

Dominguez vs Guama race to 50 for 80+ per side

I’ve never seen anyone adjust the table mid-action on their own accord. I wouldn’t be happy if my playing competitor showed with tools and starting wrenching on the table. Oscar opened up a can of worms on himself. If he had a problem with the table, he should have addressed it with Guama and had someone neutral fix the table.

I am not in anyway saying Oscar is a cheat. But he opened himself up for controversy.
I wouldn’t call fixing dead spots on the cushions by tightening loose rail bolts and replacing missing rail bolts as cheating. It’s not like he snuck in and did it in the middle of the night. It’s not hard for a professional level player to quickly see and hear the sound of dead spots on the cushions when hitting some balls on the table. It’s not an unreasonable request for the table to play the way it should play.

I’m sure Oscar noticed the issue, informed the owner / manager and was given permission to fix it. If that alteration was not known to his opponent or his entourage, that’s their fault for not being around the poolroom when they should have been, before a big $ match like this.

SJM at 2025 Mosconi Cup: Way too Late Thoughts

Hard to figure any of it. The Earl choice of a few years ago showed that playing in most Matchroom events is not a prerequisite for Mosconi inclusion. In 2024, however, Filler was excluded for missing one WNT major.

Hence, the inclusion of Justin Bergman, who does not play the WNT Tour, is not something that can be ruled out.

Wonder how well Justin plays these days.
