The past threads that have been started by other AZbers had some good responses even though the thread got hammered by a few.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever worn a pair of MMA Shoe Stingray Escape Shoes. And yes, I'm serious. :D I was just wondering if they might be good for playing pool. They have a number of attractive attributes.

Let's see....

good lateral support for the push off on the break...

good looks for the fashionistas....

not too high...

not too low....

edit..... I actually don't have ANY idea what shoes you're talking about..... :-)

Is there a pool playing shoe sales man in the house? I always wanted to try shoe sales...esp in the 1960's and 70's when the micro mini was the rage;) Johnnyt

This thread was about 8 months. Do you have a picture of those shoes Joey?

Nike air force one's (not thugnificent) are what I usually wear or nice casualish dress shoes (kenneth cole or ted baker).

I don't know if shoes can help, but uncomfortable shoes I'm sure could hurt....I wear comfy shoes.

Pool shoes? Sounds as useful as a pinball helmet.

Being on your feet for an extended period.....shoes can make a difference!!

Here's my favorite......Good traction, VERY comfortable!

Joey,

If you are going to wear the shoes you have to coordinate the outfit, MMA shorts, T-shirt, and of course gloves. Look out Earl, here comes Joey!

The real issue may be durability. Looks like these shoes are designed for relatively short term wear in a ring, don't know if the soles would hold up to the wear playing pool would put on them.

Good point about the shoe holding up, Hu.
I asked the manufacturer about that exact thing. Waiting for an email response. :boring2:
Thanks,

I would love to go to an online poolshop and be able to buy black leather shoe that I KNEW were comfortable.

At tournaments with dresscode players needs to use black leather shoes. It's easy to find, but not easy to find shoes that stay comfortable after walking around the table for hours. (No problem for me, though, my highest priority is if the chairs are comfortable, since I am not shooting much)

I like ECCO & SAS, they are both long wearing, top-of-the-line comfortable playing shoes. I can affored any shoe, these are my choice.

Tennis shoes are not part of my casual wardrobe.
