Murrey table question...

I have a buddy wanting to sell me his table. I've played on it and its a nice playing table but I'm not familiar with the maker. Its a Murrey...he says "Murrey with an E not an A". I guess there are two different Murrey/Murray table makers...which one is better? Its just a plain black table that looks very commercial. Looks similar to the black Big G Gandy's if my memory serves me correctly. And yes, its a 9ft. So...my question is, whats it worth roughly? Anyone care to ballpark it for me? Trying to decide if I should sell my Valley barbox & replace it with his 9ft. Thank you for the help.:)

Would say about $750, COM had these tables, its probably the real McCOY.

So when you say real McCoy...then you mean if its a Murr"e"y then its a decent table? Quality ok? He's wanting a $1000. He bought it from one of our local room owners. I just didn't want to spend a grand on a $500 table.

I would agree, 1000 is probably a little high in this market. I think if you looked hard, you could find a GC for that price. 7-750 is probably a good price for any sub-GC commercial 9ft table.

Well it could be a nice table like a GC and have bad rubber and warped slate< I don't really know what your table is condition wise. If it is in normal cond I would say no more than 750. Yes you should be able to pick up a GC for 1000 also. fyi John

The older Murreys that were used in TCOM were a quality table, I definitely wouldn't pay $1,000 for one because like someone else mentioned you could find a Gold Crown for that price if you look around enough. I would compare it to a Gandy Big G, if you can get into one for 500 or so you're probably getting a good deal, although both Gandy and Murreys had buckets for pockets from the factory you'd definitely want to tighten them up.

With that being said I have to warn you there is a new Murrey table out there for sale which id absolute crap, it is a black laminate finish and looks like a commercial model but it is crap. It is called the Dominator or some shit and it retails for around a grand. It is along the lines of one of those importes tables (Imperial?? ) and it is seriously junk. Stay away from those!
