Impossible. The 2 goes nowhere that high if you shoot at a speed to hold whitey behind blocker.

I disagree. This was actually the first shot I saw, because I really like playing this particular safety. I hit it a lot firmer than it looks, a fairly full hit on the object ball, and inside english. This makes the cue ball nestle right up behind the 8 ball. Perhaps it might not work from this "exact" position, but I think if either of the 2 object balls were moved 1 ball width, the safety would definitely be on, and the 2 might even bank further.

I like the aggressive option but I didn't see it when I first viewed the diagram. My first instinct was to bank the 2 three-rails into or near the cluster and tuck in behind the 6.
