What's the furthest you've ever sent the cue ball off of a break?

I had one today where I didn't hit the head ball square and sent the cue ball 4 tables away, down a bunch of stairs, and into the basement of the pool hall. I felt like an idiot, but all-in-all it was pretty funny. :)

Dont know the my longest distance, but I have broken the light before! ;)

Personally I'd prefer a controlled break and try to keep 'ole Whitey in the middle of the table.

I used to hammer the break with all I had...and have flown cue balls, I believe I once one-hopped a ball off an adjacent table and onto another.

Mine is nothing compare to yours, mine only flew 3 feet in the air and two tables over

This wasn't ME who did this... but I was gambling with this guy and beating him pretty bad so he smashed the CB real hard and it flew off the table, busted through the huge glass window of the local pool room and proceeded to roll down Market St. He got banned from the room for that... so I guess it was a ban-hammer strike before there were technically ban hammers.

True story.

I'm not sure of the distance, but he had to dodge traffic to get the ball back.

I have had some nasty ones

I am in between on the soft break and blast em open strategy. I like to mix in a little of both depending on the day, the table and my stroke.

I did however, one day, scoop the cue ball up on a missed power break and sent it flying towards some spectators at a high-top table off the foot of the table. It didnt hit anyone but it landed loudly on the table and could have been bad.

That was my first phenolic break tip experience.

Now after long hours of practice with the Break Rack I have a more powerful and accurate break. Not saying it never goes off the table (they still do that once in a while) but I can hit them harder, more squarely and more consistently than before.

Now if only I could figure out what to do with the balls after a nice break I would be in business.

not sure how far but......i have several holes in my wall from the cue ball, most people who know me will seldom stay at the end of the table when i break and one time i hit the 8 ball rack just right and sank 5 balls on the break.

My son graduated from college and moved all of his dorm stuff into the garage and basement. One night a bunch of us were playing pool. The CB jumped off of the table and into never never land of the stuff being stored in the dark corners. We looked for it and then gave up and decided to use another one.

We live in Michigan and he got a job in Chicago. Rented a apartment and stayed there for about 2 years and never unpacked a lot of his junk. He then transferred to N. Carolina and did the same. About 3 years ago he move to Columbus, Oh. Finally bought a house and unpacked most of his junk. While doing so guess what he found? The cue ball that we "lost".

I didn't see it go that far and it didn't roll that far but indirectly it traveled about 2000 miles after jumping off of the table before we found it.

I had just started playing a league match, everyone around the table with fresh beers in hand.I sent the cue ball straight into a beer bottle being held it it looked like a fountain going off.

:)

I hit one so hard once outta frustration....

It went out the pool hall door...over the river...through the woods...and ended up at my grandmother's house!!!

She was glad to see me though, but wouldn't give me the cueball back until I promised to eat some chicken soup!

The place where I played at had pool tables near bowling lanes. I broke once, cue ball popped up, bounced on the floor onto the bowling alley floor passed a lane, went down the 2nd lane gutter, I ran to catch it before it went down to the back, slipped and fell backwards, but still manage to stop it.

I think we have a winner and new champion!

Furthest you've ever sent the cue ball

I played in an Open Tournament at the Cadillac Island Casino in Nov 08 and my very first break hit the one ball and proceeded upward at around a 60 degree angle and hit a pole 8 feet high in the air and the pole was 8 feet from the table. I did win the tournament however.

We had two pool tables in the game room of our college and I and many others have routinely sent it about 100 feet across the room.

Far and away the most amazing thing had to be last week when I hit an object ball way to hard. It rattled so hard as it hit the tits of the pocket that it actually jumped up on the side of the rail just an inch above the pocket and there it just spun in perfect balance for a good 5 seconds before slowly falling into the pocket....

Don't know my longest but I did take a chunk out of a cue ball after hitting it off the table and onto a tile floor. Chipped the cue ball and the tile!

I was wondering what it'd take to chip one. The cue ball I sent to the basement looked completely fine after the ordeal.

Thats nothing, I once hit one through the window off of the Crown Royal Billboard. Through the first floor of the Horseshoe Casino. Across the Texas street bridge, and in the corner pocket for a game winner!!! And Michael and Larry were there, witness to it all

I think I might have that beat...I used to work the 2am-10am shift at the PH and there were quite a few 4-7ams when it was just me and a buddy there. He would help me clean up and I would hook him up too. We were bored and there was a large box of various balls, so we took them outside because he 'heard the bounced like super-balls'. Ya know what? They do. More than a few were thrown full force onto the parking lot and there were a couple of those that never were seen/ heard of after the throw.

I was not working, but it was during my shift: I was on break.
Never saw those balls again. I surmise they are in orbit.

Did I win again?:wave::rotflmao:

One time, my cue ball jumped off the table on my break and hit my opponent square in the head. Who knows how far it could have gone if she hadn't stopped it. :)
