Question

Did you get a new camera? Those pictures look nice. Glad you got the trade you wanted for that cue. Both the cue and guitar are sweet.

i had a goldtop standard from 1975 heaviest guitar i ever felt. played great but im a fender man myself.

better buy a backbrace

Kool!

I have a custom shop 56 gold top w/an original set of 1956 p-90's (with many other expensive dust colectors...lol) Cant think of anything I trade for cept' maybe 59 standard......yeah that'll happen. Anyway great axe. What's the neck profile like?

Got'em both but everytime I think of getting rid of a Gibson LP for a Fender Strat or Tele, I am reminded of all the guys that traded 52 thru 60 L.P.s for junky 3 bolt 73 thru 81 Strats and Teles. Tell me those guys are'nt still using Preparation H!

before cues i collected guitars. ive had everything under the sun. gibsons def hold value better but fenders are more playable IMO. not a tele fan.i had a nice custon shop tele lacesensor pickups when they made the,. no balls tho... too twangy. i like the playagility of an SG more. like cues and cars im a vintage man. the SRV stat is nice. fat neck oldschool style

Got this from a studio guitar buddy

He set it up like Stevie Ray would have. The frets are like new. The action is unbelievably quick and very low. I started to see how it played and hated it until I began to teat it up. I was playing The Sky is crying and the notes at the top just screamed. The guitar took everything almost playing itself. I never played with the heavy strings before but man once you start bending them things you can go crazy especially with good frets like this. It puts my 56 Jr. to shame! I never play any more. I have to admit I did bang out the solo to She's just a woman and now I want to pick it up and do Workin from 7 to 11 and Wippin post! I know why I stopped playing. I couldn't stop.

Si

Had to do it! I guess when you treat people right they usually return the favor. And this guitar is a big return on past favors. It was set up on 10's not 12's. I wish I let my buddy set it up on 12's. I really like the bigger strings!
Thanks and enjoy looking!
Nick :)

Nice pick up Nick. My wifes 92 yr old grandfather still plays his guitar. Once in awhile he gets together with his old band at the Elks lodge & they rip it up big time.
Congrats to ya
Jeff

Best part

Years ago I watched the wanted ads for a piano for my wife. Things were tight. After watching out for more than a few years I found her a Baldwin for $500.00. A old couple was selling it. Their boarder studied in Europe, piano restoration. It was basicly and still is a new piano on the inside, modified to perfection.
I rember telling my wife, I bought you a piano, it's a Baldwin! I have been looking for years. Now you can get rid of that player piano. She said, "Baldwin? I always wanted a Wurlitzer like my Mama'a. Well at least it will be better than what I have." I had to ask, " Haven't you heard of Baldwin Pianos?" She hadn't! Her mom screamed out loud when she told her I bought a Baldwin, "Oh my lord Niki they cost as much as a car! That is when I told my wife they are as good as it gets just like her!
Now on our 28th aniversery I told her," well thanks for the Gold Top!". I traded that cue you bought me for this guitar so you bought it for me!
Sweet!

Stevie's choice of string was 13-56 gauge and had Gibson super jumbo and bass frets on this axes, so you can imagine what his hands and fingers must have been like.
SRV used to super glue his callouses back on when came off. Ceasar Diaz was his tech and did an amazing job. Sure miss SRV.....seen him back in 84 at Hara arena here in Dayton for $8.25...how kool is that! If you get the chance sit down with headphones on and listen to "Riviera Paradise". You can actually hear the hum of his amp. I wish I had the line of old Fender tube amps he used. Twins, deluxes, princetons. Gotta go listen to Texas flood again.
