Question about LIVE STREAMING???????

I am running the Maryland State 9-BAll Bar Table Championships April 25-26
in Cambridge, Maryland at the Finish Line.. There are a load of people who would love to see this tournament and all the action Live. I am not computer friendly at all.. SO, could anyone please help me in the easiest possible way to brodcast my tournament and its action. There always great players like Matt Clatterbuck, Manny Chow, Kevin West and Brandon Shuff.. They are always in action.. I would love for everyone to see..

Do I need a certain kind of camera?
Do you need special wires?
What site do you go to?
Do you need a Micraphone?

I dont know nothing about this kind of stuff.
Please help, I need it..
 
It's something I want to learn more about also. I think this is how it works.

Basically you need a digital video camera (which is pricey), a computer (a laptop is ok) and an internet connection at the pool hall. Preferably the connection is high speed and always on. I think a wired connection is preferable to a wireless one but it's not a huge deal.

The camera plugs into a computer, which runs a program that handles the stream as it comes from the camera. This program is called the broadcast widget, and you can usually download it from the internet streaming service you plan on using. The program converts the stream into a format that is internet-friendly, and that converted stream is uploaded to that broadcasting service (let's say ustream). Once you've signed up for ustream, you will have your own ustream broadcast page and you'll get a link that you can tell people about. That link will have the streaming video available.

You might also want to check out mogulus, I've heard some of the streaming guys say it's more reliable.

Their page is a little busier but they have help videos if you scroll down (starting with "launch your channel") so you might find their service is a nicer one to start with.

You need a Camera that can be used as a "Live Camera". You can go anywhere from $200 - $4000+.

What you need to look for is a Camera that has a "FireWire" connection or a USB. And a laptop that has wireless and compatible "FireWire" port, also know as IEEE.

I suggest creating an account on Ustream.tv or Mogulus before hand and get familiar with it. There are tons of little quirky things to work out, and people that watch your stream can help you with.

The special wires is a "Firewire" cable. This cable needs to be long enough to run from the camera to the broadcasting laptop.

You'll also need a good tripod to get the right angle on the table(s) you are shooting.

There are also even more advanced features that you can do, and it all depends on the amount of money you want to spend. You can stream with multiple cameras, multiple mic's, etc.

Many mic's will work for you. You can get away with a $20 mic without problem or go all the way up to Wireless Mic's.
