faced this tonight after the break.

CueTable Help

I had no pocket for the 3, but went for the backside shape and got lucky.

After rolling up on the four things opened up a little.

I got funny on the 5, and chose to go to the short side of the six, but again after I got on the 4, it was pretty routine, and being thrilled about getting on the 3 carried me through the rack.

Overall a rough night of practice, with this one bright spot.

yeah, thanks! Basically I was kinda rocky all night, and this wasn't a great out, except for that lucky shape on the 3. I got "weak" on the 5 and the 7, but what the hell, if I kept my mouth shut, people thought I meant to shoot it that wat.

Thanks!!

And while I am not at the "higher levels" (yet!!) I will fight, kicking and screaming to NOT shoot a combo, too hard to control both balls. This table is tough, 4.5", and simonis 860 and LOTS of humidity, but it's honest, and if you roll them clean, shooting the long way is a good option a lot of times.

I had a lot of trouble focusing tonight.

My break was pretty solid, I was making balls good and parking whitey. I would un-scramble things, and then go to sleep around the 6 or 7, once things went back to cruise control.

Neil...Great observation, and explaination! That's just one reason why we teach students to "take a lap" around the table...to see the layout from all angles, as part of their planning process. Nice post!

Often, when a ball is near the end of the table, the other pockets are overlooked. Then, they are stuck with the combo with uncertain position afterwards.

In my opinion, this is one of the many things that seperate different levels of play. The higher levels use all the pockets and will normally take a longer shot over having to take a combo.

your even jumping a lil now too! jk....cya call me tomorrow. if u get off early enough youll see that black and tan case before i ship it.
