I will be in Philly this week and am free Thursday night. I am staying near the Liberty Bell and I think the two closest rooms are Buffalo Billiards and Tacony Billiards. Can someone give me an idea which on would be the best bet for a little cheap one pocket action.

two tournament options

Drexeline in Drexel Hill, PA has a scratch handicap tournament the last Thursday of every month - $10 buy in, race to 6, loser pays table time

Hot Shots in Deptford, NJ (less than 5 minutes over Walt Whitman Bridge) has a handicap double elimination, races to 4, $15 plus 5 calcutta?

Drexel Line has a lot of players period - all games

It depends on if you have a car or not. If you are close to Tacony, then I would check them out. Definitely some 1 hole players there, especially on the front tables, near the grill area.

Drexeline is another good players room, although it's on the outskirts of the city, but still do-able.

I don't think there is much going on at Buffalo (dumpy place near Front st?).

I'd offer to ride shotgun with ya, but Philly is about an hour and a half from me, so it's a bit of a haul on a school night :wink:

I work thursday nights at Drexeline, so stop on up and see me. We will be having the scratch 9ball tourney.
You should be able to get a good 1-hole game though.
The other two rooms mentioned are kind of rough and you really should
have someone to watch your back at night. JMHO
Hope you can make over, its easy to find.

I did a map quest and it looks like too much of cab ride to Drexeline Billiards so I will probably just cab over to Tacony billiards tonight if anyone wants to play a little one pocket I will be there around 700pm. Shoot me a pm with your cell number if someone can make it tonight.

Good info., go Drexelline if you are looking for money action, this is where all the players show up at.

Other locals are excellent as well, and I have nothing to add.

Thanks, most people know me here and I will play anyone for 25 a game, so I will provide a full report on how bad I get waxed tonight:D:D If any of you sharks in the Philly area want to pick up an easy short score you now know where I will be tonight.
