This was the Golden Cue in New York City, located on Queens Boulevard West. I don't think they exist anymore, but I like this picture because it shows Ginky (George San Souci) with blond hair. :grin-square:

This picture was taken at the conclusion of an action game for a dime. Guess which one lost?

This is Snooker's in Providence, Rhode Island. It is located in the center of several dozen universities and colleges. This is the front of the building. You'd never know there was a full-scale pool room here. I have gotten lost every single time I went there. However, they have a separate dance hall with live music, a professional pool room, an outdoor smoking lounge with bar and seating, and an excellent menu with great food.

I don't understand why it says "Green Room" on the sign in front of the building, as depicted above, but the name of the pool room is Snookers. Here is their emblem. You have to go up a flight of stairs to get there. It is a historic building, which used to be a jewelry store of high-priced items. The huge antique safe is still on site inside the pool room. Kind of cool! :)

This is the inside of Snooker's pool room in Providence, Rhode Island.

They host the annual Ocean State Championship, and each winner gets a banner with his/her name on it to hang from the ceiling forever more. There's Tony Robles' banner up front. Ginky has won this tournament several times.

JAM, for the story in french San Souci (spell sans souci) means "carefree". It always make me smile when I read his name...
Since I've never met him, is that corespond to his caracter ? ;)

Here's the pool room sign inside Salt City Billiards in Syracue, New York. I love this pool room. They offered home-made Italian delicacies, making me quite comfortable when I was hanging out, sweating a tournament. The rates seem very reasonable!

Yeah, he's as laid back and as care free as they come -- a very, very nice gentleman player. My other half has quite a few action stories pertaining to George, which I will save for another day. I really like him.

Here is George San Souci, depicted second from the right, after he won the 2005 Ocean State Championship, shown here, going left to right, with Joe Tucker (3rd place winner), Regina and Steve Gould (owners), Ginky, of course, and the legendary Allen Hopkins who came in second place.

What a finals match this was between Allen and Ginky. I will never forget it. It may be the best finals I have ever witnessed. Neither player seemed to make a mistake. I felt privileged to witness it. It was absolutely awesome! :)

The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour was having a weekend tournament, hosted by the Golden Cue in Albany, New York. This may be my favorite pool room of all for personal reasons!

Look at the welcome sign the owner had made for this tournament. Pool is alive and well in Albany, thanks to this wonderful pool room!

This is one of my favorite pool room pictures. It is of Golden Cue in Albany, New York. The tournament has ended, and it's time to go home. The winner, clutching his trophy, is peering inside one last time, contemplating whether he should stay or not, as he watches another player counting his cabbage. To leave or not to leave, that's the question!:grin-square:

This isn't a pool hall, but it is a pool event, which which was filmed for ESPN, the 2004 Skins Billiards Championship in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was the first one of its kind, and the first place prize of $54,000 was won by Niels Feijen of The Netherlands. This shot here was taken before the matches began, while the players were practicing.

Here is one more pool venue which is the most beautiful one I have ever seen up front and close. It was taken in July 2006 at the IPT North American 8-Ball Championship, Venetian Casino in Last Vegas. I have been to many pool tournaments in the last decade, but never have I seen one as elaborate as this. There was a green room for the competitors with a buffet of food, lounge chairs, a shower, and a massage therapist on site. The event was won by Thorsten Hohman of Germany. I think it was a $2-million total purse, and I can't remember with Thorsten pocketed, but it was prety hefty, at least six figures plus.:)

Just wondering... In that picture, is that Danny Basavich in the window?
