Cues

Southwest,Ginacue,Blackcreek,Mottey,Balabuska and I could really go off this in post. There is so many greats all should retain their value if you take care of them. This forum is great place to find a excellent cue and get feedback on just about any cue you could imagine.I shoot with a Schon ltd and a Predator shaft.Got them both with extra shaft for $1,500.Hits like ivory.

The best thing to do is attend a major tournament where there are a lot of cue dealers. Look at the cues. Try them. Then buy one. Opinions are like A$$holes. Everyone has one unless you are married then you may have 2.

Unless you are a dealer don't worry about "making" money off of a cue. Buy what you like and play with it. If you keep it long enough and enjoy playing with it you will "get" your money back. If you do make a profit consider it a bonus.

why should he not worry about "making" money off of a cue? who wants to spend $2500 on a cue only to sell it a year down the road for $1800.....

i think your post applies to cues under $1k. if im spending $2500.00 on a cue, you better believe it's going to retain its value!

thats my point exactly I now have , phillippi, joss west, eurowest ,tommy trott, peachour, viking ,newport ,dominik and mezz, to tell you the truth the mezz plays as good or better than any of them and it was the cheapest , I want it as a investment as much as a player for that cash if possible I have had several pms of nice cues I want to make a good decision based on what info I get . the cash is still a couple of weeks away so I have time to decide . thanks for the info I am taking it all in

PM sent. The Scruggs I have on here is the best deal on here IMHO. With all the work in it, 2500 is selling it short but like I said before, I am taking a break from pool for a while as my son is about to be born. Let me know what you think.

Cue

OK here is my two cents worth. For $2500.00 you can purchase a nice cue from many of the top notch craftsman here. You will get a TOP Quality cue and it will more than likely be a pleasure to shoot with. If you are looking for an investment that will return your money Id suggest a Southwest. I don't think you can get a Searing,Szamboti,Schick, etc for $2500.00. The Scruggs or the Tascarella are probably on par with the Southwest and I'd consider the Tascarella if it were me. If not that id go with a Southwest. The Southwest probably wont appricate but it will retain it's value. You may get lucky and purchase a cue from one of the many quality makers here but it is a dice throw as to if in 5 years it will retain or appricate in value. What ever you do good luck and I probably didnt tell you anything you didnt all ready know.
