Saw this on C.L. in Seattle

So if you owned this table you would sell it for $750??

I wouldn't own that table unless someone gave it to me and then yes I would sell it for 750.

Just look at it, its missing inlay and probably has loose veneer. Who knows how it plays etc. Don't know if the rail caps are on tight/loose. When I buy a table I am looking to make money. Buy that for 1500 dump a bunch in it, time and then you try to sell it.

I have donated better to my local FIREHOUSE!!!!

LOL Sure you would.

I see a missing nameplate but no loose veneer, do you have X-ray eyes? It's only going to play as well as it was assembled if you can't assemble it to play well then find another job.

I have donated better to my local FIREHOUSE!!!!

Big deal and I'm sure you wrote it off as way more than it was worth as well, you want a cookie for that too??

The guys at the Firehouse were very appreciative

Bottom right leg has inlay missing, and its coming out of corner that shouldn't have damage.

Actually I had Joe Newell in KS apprasie it, ask him.
From snooker tables, heated billiard tables, pro players, they all love my work.

Thanks for the insult

And I can't think of one good mech in here who would pay that for that table

I'm sure all of your customers love your work, especially the ones that you have to come back and repair your carpet tape jobs lol

This isn't a question of what a mechanic would pay for the table, I asked you what you would sell it for.

Oh really what was the question? it wasn't what you could sell it for?

yes even the carpet tape customers love me!

You can't see celluloid missing?

I am use to abuse in this forum so keep it coming

Oh really what was the question?
The question was if you owned this table you would sell it for $750. Learn to read.
it wasn't what you could sell it for? No it was what you WOULD sell it for, again learn to read.

yes even the carpet tape customers love me! I'd love the banjo playing retarded kid from Deliverance if he owned the only service station in town.

You can't see celluloid missing? Not on this computer but it does have bad resolution.

I am use to abuse in this forum so keep it coming I can't imagine why.

So you have a shitty screen and yet you can look at an antique table and judge its value better than me. Bet you can't look at cues that well either if your screen couldn't see that piece missing. Like I said, anyone who knows anything about tables will stay clear of this one at $1500. Do you see a bunch of guys jumping on your little band wagon?/well do you?? well do you??? da da da

Lately the only abuse is from you and I don't make fun of retarded kids.

Whats your real name???

Oh and I answered the question you just can't comprehend the answer. It was post #4! I don't purchase tables that are undesirable to the genreal market. I didn't say I would deliver and set up the table for 750. As a side note perhaps it is worth $1500 but I didn't see the accessories. Table alone, forget it.

Its clear you want to rile me up and your doing a good job. Really what is your problem??

FYI I am installing a Diamond Sun with tac strips, will post pics especially for you.

FYI again

Glen is my arch rival, you have to wait until I am done with him. He and I bang heads all the time but not like this. He knows what he is talking about when we talk about tables and would never question the things you have to me.

OH yeah, I am selling my GC V table this morning. Sorry to those of you who couldn't make it over for some snooker or billiards on it. HHMMMMM?? let me think??? who else has made billiard plugs for tables?

Since your so smart? how do you move 9 ft 3 piece slate down a spiral staircase????

I don't mean to chim in here guys, but I feel like I have to say something:D For me, unless the table has some sort of documentation as to the restoration done on it...from a creditable source, I'd have to assume this table is all original, and therefor more than likely has T-rail bolt problems as well as bolt problems. The slate liners as well as the wood molded pockets are more than likely nailed out or rotten, the veneer is unglued in places or missing. The poster more than likely posted the 2 best pictures of the table showing the best angle he could show, which is the reason for the lack of pictures really showing the true condition of the table. That being said, I have to agree with OTLB on this one, the table...until very close up inspection, would not be worth much to me. On a resale value of this table you have to assume the buyer is interested in buying the antique value of the table and not just the ownership of it, which means you have a limited market of customers, which also means they're more demanding of the condition of what it is they buy as an antique, because they NOT interested in buying a pool table, they want the antique!

To buy something like this, then stick 100's of hours into it plus money for parts, means you're not selling anything but your labor as there is no value in the table...unless the table is in demand by the buyer. More highly ornamented tables are of much higher demand than "normal" antiques.

I'd have to pass on this one, sorry;)

Glen

I totally agree with OTLB & Glen. Antiques are a totally different animal. You are going after a entirely different market, there are exceptions but
as far as antiques go,this style and model is a DOG!!! This would sit in inventory for a very long time.

Chime in all you want, the question was never about what this table is worth, I just thought it was funny seeing OTLB saying it was overpriced by about $750 when I've seen his overpriced crap he has tried to sell on E-bay. I get tables like this at least once a year or so in this condition where the owners pay me to remove it. I just asked him what he would sell it for knowing full well he would talk some BS about it. I myself would never sell a table in that condition, and that table is a very easy restoration, I could have it done before the new pockets arrived

why don't you reference something specific, like one thing on ebay, You insult me again and say I sell crap. I see what kind of person you are. Thats why my feedback is 100%.

whats your real name???? can't you read?? I wouldn't let you refinish a twig.

As the others agree I was speaking fact NOT BS as you put it. Its clear who is in charge of BS.

I consider your comments slanderous

What company do you work for????????

and now magically with your piss poor resolution your able to ascertain its an easy restoration.

And you make the owners pay you to take it out when they are giving it to you.
WOW your a nice guy

what was it about, seeing if you wanted to flame me?

Considered by many as a authority on antique tables, i have to tell you we have a shop full of plain jane, aviator, wellington, tables. Bring a truck. will sell 1500 a pop all day long to you.! We are not saying you could not make money off this table. It is not a desireable antique to own AT ANY PRICE to those in the business.

The tables value lies in the fact that it looks reasonably good and would make a good playing table for a homeowner.NOT THAT IT IS A RARE ANTIQUE! Not all antiques are collectible. Now, what is that worth?
You could purchase a used gold crown for about the same price as this one!

To all who know me or don't know me but who have seen me on ebay selling items for over 10 years or anywhere else, please tell me or should I say tell everyone just one case where I have sold anything that was crap or that was overpriced.

Here are some references for you to call: Billiard Restoration, Classic Billiards, Time after Time, Blatt Billiards, Bankshot Billiards and alot more if you don't believe them.

ANYONE can come and visit me and review every transaction for the last 10 years in my books and post anything they want that they think was unfair.

This is an open door to anyone!!!!

I am also going to see my real lawyer about this!!

Who are you Magnetardo and who do you work for?????

relax its just a forum made of mostly wanna bees when I first joined I was the same way f this f that then I relized how much this forum really works if you talk to the right people and ignore the idiots or untrainables. This is why some go silint for awhile and other just rant and rave like its craigslist and noone knows who they are it takes a few weeks to months then you figure who they are always mutaul friends will sayu iknow that person its so and so wants some help. just go through the for sale section of who burned who and who helps to get the stuff back or forces them to give it back.

Some times I type it send it before I think about it..
