Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I heard Jamie will be in town Wednesday. Not sure about Thursday. I'm sure someone would back him if he was wanting that game. So what are you looking to do?

As far as players from town matching up, I think that they find it easier to match up with each other versus matching up with guys from out of town. Maybe it's just the comfort level of playing people you see at every weekly tourney. And yes, most guys want to play when the game is right :)

Hopefully something will happen while you are here! Talk to ya on Thursday.

I would also like to say that I was happy to talk with Mike Frost tonight!! I think that in having the conversation that we did tonight, we have come to understand each other a whole lot better. We have worked out our differences, and now just look forward to seeing more great action in Des Moines. After talking with Mike, I realized that we really have a common goal, and that is to simply make pool better in Des Moines. I wish we would have had this talk sooner, but better late than never. Now I feel like we can get past this, and just get back to seeing great players match up. What Mike started, by matching up the top players in town, has put fire back into guys that normally would rather be doing anything but play pool, right now. As an example, I see guys like Jason and Justin getting fired up like never before. It's really good to see!! Without Jamie here it is different, but he wasn't the only guy in this town with heart. There are several other good players in town that are willing to match up at anytime. Two of those players play on the minor side, and I'm sure we will get to see them in action soon. I would love to see them get in on some of this! The way I look at it is like this, by having guys match up like we have seen, it is only making everyone push each other harder in order to make each other better players. The more guys that match up, the better!!

I agree it was a good talk most definitely. I don't think we'll have any more trouble after last night, we have a good feel and understanding of each other and our views on the game.

OMG my phone was dead so you have no idea how fun it really was in there. I'm gonna call you cuz it's pretty funny to laugh about as far as I am concerned, but it was hilarious. Oh and stop starting trouble and shit, you got guys doing parking lot checks to make sure you aint there before they come. I'm just kiddin I think it was great, it was definitely a good night to be there....Sidenote after we won that money I didnt leave the place with a dime of the winnings but I sure did get tanked.
 
Frost, you got in a REALLY good game with Phil/Pet -vs- Vic/Mikey playing 1pkt. A more fair game might be TroyH/Mikey against Phil and Pet.

And i thought Mikey -vs- Pet was an OK game. Even though it didnt work out that way.

Jon, you need to tell me what you wanna sidebet on the SBV / Freezer match. I need to figure out how much im gonna have tied up in this. If you wanna sweat bet thats fine, if you want more thats fine too.

July is a good month. there should be lots happening here...Tom you may never find a game here unless Jamie plays, point blank. It was like 9/11 around here now the towers are gettin rebuilt.

Troy H plays better than Victor? I'd figure them for a tossup unless Victors out of stroke.

Mikey = Mike Henderson? If so, I'm guessing that Mike H. got the best of Pet? Just a guess. Last time I seen Mike H. play, he was lights out.

What was the game?

I think Troy would play better partners with Mikey.

Yes, Mike Henderson. Mikey beat Pet 9-0 for $200 even up. Yes he played well in that set.

Pet, I will be out tomorrow night for league. If we have a bye(which Rene said she was about 75% sure we would), we will prolly end up at big dogs later.

If you bring your "singlet" , I will bring my paddle!!!!

Jon B., whats the situation w/ Melodee Music and the possibility of getting their tables in Big Dogs to have a VNEA Melodee Music league out of there?
 
Roller coaster of a night. I'll tell you what though Phil played his ass off. Came out on the bad side of 2 sets last night against Mike H. They played some even up 9 ball races to 9. First set goes hill hill we back it and jack it, Mike scrapes by and wins $200. Next set also went hill hill and Mike made a sick table length bank while playing 3 rail position to get shape on a 9 that was glued to the rail. Before he shoots it he tells Phil looks like you beat me, then he fires the shot in and sits there for a minute in shock, oh and he had to shoot the bank jacked up as it was frozen to the back rail next to the 9 ball that he had to get shape on. Don't mind losing the cash that way, we'll probably play some more today, Phil got tired and played a little weaker than he can. We won $400 altogether before that so it was a free roll of a game for us.

Side note...The arizona players are still in town and will be going to the pool hall at about 2. One of them says he's play Scott Frost some 10-6 all day long and does play him that way everytime he sees him. With that said I remember 1 guy in town that says he plays Scott Frost that same game. JR call the ape. I'd like to make some $50/game side bets. Plus I like to see good one hole matches.
