I have invited the Promoters of The Galveston World Classic BIG money tournament(s) to do a live chat and answer any questions that YOU as players would like to know.

Shooting Arts suggested that we list some of our questions here, now. I agree. I think it will help us players get the most from the chat interview.

The tentative date is Monday June, 15th. As soon as the time is locked in I will post it here!

Here's a few from another thread:

do you know what time the 1pocket goes off on Friday?

And, is it true the 1pocket (as the other events), will run throughout the week, with the finals being played the last day?

Do you know what the % of the total amount of entry fees, for each place will be?

1) if they have a plan for field payout based on entries (I'm sure they do), 2) if so how is it structured (portion of field paid), 3) will field payouts occur at the end of each competitions semi finals .

How are the brackets for all the different tournaments being displayed?

Will there be hourly/daily or periodic internet updates for all the tournaments brackets?

Live Streaming? Pay Per View? are they in the works?

Is this event free to spectators? if not, when will the seating charts be available with the price structure? Will there be a general admission and VIP seating area?

As is done at the DCC tournament....If you are playing in major singles events, will your wife, girlfriend, husband, etc. be issued a free spectators admission pass ?

How many tables will be able to be dedicated to the one-pocket tournament? And will that event --once started-- be played to its conclusion on successive days? For example: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, etc.

Doc

I see that players auctions are listed on the web for some of the events, Who will be running these and how will you determine how many places they will pay?

That's what I wanted to know too. They are saying 1st Place money is guaranteed, but what's the payout for the rest of the field (based on X number of entries)?

Charlie(Papa Red) & Scott,

This question was already answered partly in one of the interviews from Vegas. They will pay 25% of the field. Then they will top off 1st place to meet the guarantee.

They are paying 100% of the entries back too. What percentage each spot will get, of that, is what we would like to know.

Thanks Ray, I don't mind the $200 entry fee to play good competition if I feel I have a chance to get it back. If I play bad it my fault, but if it's top heavy I have no chance.

I believe the 25% of the field will be a typical breakdown and then they will top off 1st to the guaranteed amount. We will be asking them what the percentages will be for the different places!

Thanks Charlie!

Ray...That's what I meant by my question. How is the payout structured, for the "normal" 25% payout. Like Papa Red, I want to know if it's too top heavy or not. I asked Clark this, in Vegas, and he didn't have an answer. Hopefully, if this chat comes off, it will be answered.

First off I would like to thank the promoters for conceiving this type of tournament.

1. Precisely how is the Player's Auction(s) going to work. I understand it will not be a standard Calcutta but a new and unique format but I just want to hear it from the promoters.

2. Is it true that this tournament is going to be designed and produced so that it can be marketed to television?

3. Would you be kind enough to provide some DETAILED information about each of the people involved in this promotion? Regular job, civic involvement, business background.

4. Can you provide us with any information on any of the tournament's sponsors?

5. Can there be a steady flow of information from one location where we can get the latest information about what is going on with the tournament?

6. Please detail the payout percentages for each tournament.

7. Please explain why the pool players should not be concerned about getting paid. You may know that there has been some problems in the past few years with players spending their hard earned money to participate in pool tournaments and sometimes they have trouble getting paid.

8. Do you have plans for other tournaments besides this one and can you provide some details and timelines?

9. Are there any plans in the works to upgrade your website? I know you are busy but numerous key pieces of information are missing from the website.

Sorry for the numerous questions but these are concerns that have been expressed by some of the people trying to make a decision about attending.

Hope you will consider doing this type of communication in the future as well.

We all wish you GREAT SUCCESS in this tournament and any other tournaments you might host in the future.

Sincerely,
Joey A

Thanks again for your promotion of this tournament and please consider using AZ Billiards Main Forum to communicate some of the news releases.

lol.

Joey, do you know what we use to call these kinds of questions, right before we shoved someone out in front of a gaggle of microphones, cameras, and the Washington DC press corp (you're old enough to remember Sam Donaldson, aren't you)?

We called them the "softball" questions. (Though in this case, we might have to go with "beach ball.")

Now try what we use to call the "Murder Board" questions ;-)

Lou,

Come by the chat. Bobby assured me he can and will answer ALL questions!

It WILL be moderated though and we ask that everyone behave in a professional manner.

I will announce the day and time as soon as it's firm. Hopefully Monday night will work out for everyone's schedules.

Thanks,

Ray

So, is this going to happen?

Wasn't there a HUGE announcement going to happen also?

Ray.... any word at all?

Please?
