nbll01 aka Albrecht Custom Cues Missing?

Dave's personal life is none of my business, but I will give you guys a little first hand info. I bought Dave's entire shop from him some months ago when he decided to move back to AZ as I have an interest in building cues and this was a way for me to get a turn key operation. This is not to say that Dave didn't move to AZ and buy some new equipment and start back up. Dave was a great guy to deal with at the time and was very "upfront" about everything, but I don't know his current situation. I will not respond in this thread again or by PM to questions about Dave or anything else regarding this matter, so please don't ask. I hope all works out for everyone.

Well...

I did a lot of business with him and NEVER had a problem. Just recently. I am sure the family issues are the reason. I am glad its only a set of JPs, as I am not in need of them. I am sure he will straighten this all out. He was always cool to deal with. Sometimes things get in the way.

I do wish he would connect and let us all know what is going on. That would be nice though.

Hope all is well,
Felix

I forgot Tony told me about this. that does make the rest of these stories really interesting

Hes been missing for a while now.... No call backs etc etc.

I'm the one waiting on the JPs for close to a year now....

His motivation to complete my order must be nil since I paid up front.

Bottom line..... I should have known better.

If anyone hears from him wish him luck, but remind him Karma is a *****.

I do not get it...

How can you take someone's money like that and not produce a product, or refund them if you are selling all your equipment?? Just not right.

Anyway, to the one that bought his stuff, did you see a set of JPs with my name on it?? lol..

And are you going to make cues? Can I get on your list now.. :)

Any pieces of ebony and tulip between the stuff bought from Dave ?

100 % Up Front ???

Not sure what to think by reading all the posts but I have to ask this question. Did Dave require payment for work to be done 100 % paid in Full up front ???
If so, IMO you have to wonder about anyone who does business like this.
Seems like a Bad business practice to me considering so many things can go wrong during the process before completing the job. I was recently disappointed to find out that a Top Custom Case maker that I wanted to order from requires 100 % payment up front and I Just won't do that for this very reason. IMO once something is paid in full in advance the person
who is doing the job loses the incentive to finish the job in a timely manner.

Thanks..............Paul

Guy's I really don't want to bring everybody down here, but I suspect it is time to count your losses and move on. What more information do you need, the guy is having financial problems, he sold all his equipment, and the gentleman who bought it posted that when he bought it, that it was a turn key buy. Which means that he sold his equipment, and he sold his wood and materials and he is out of the business.

I am very surprised that the buyer posted to this thread, but while he did not directly say what I have said he had no other reason to post to this thread.

If some one plans to move to a new location and can't afford to move their equipment and they sell it that is not the end of the world, however, to sell your wood and other materials will set you back years.

We all make mistakes, I also fell into a trap similar to this around five months ago and it cost me $1200. But, in the end it is not worth loosing sleep over it, sometimes the lesson is worth the money.

Just mt thoughts

part of the game ...

i think anyone buying & selling cues either for a living or just for fun has lost money at one time or another ...

i have lost on cases not shipped
cues not made
cues not as described and hence re-sold at considerable loss
shafts never made

whatcha gonna do ?

write it off and hope your karma load is lighter...

it sucks but it's just the way it is sometimes...

i hope it all works out but be mentally prepared for the worst case scenario ...

I'm sure he really want to get your joint protectors from you. i'm betting it's just hard to do since he already sold his equipment!

Just hope that somebody who knows dave will continue to talk to him to settle this issues.

I still believe that this can be settled not in terms of cue but paying back the money given to him.
