Guerra Cues

I build one cue at a time

Hello,
I just installed the Emerald tip for a customer of mine and here are the pictures. I had quite a few people asking me for pictures of an Emerald installed. Sorry, the pictures are not very good but they will give you an idea:

a new tip made by Tiger.supposed to be a hard tip.i wonder how it plays since sniper is supposed ti be medium-hard but plays much softer

Thanks man, did a search on it, I'm wondering how these would play as well. Might have to try one of these and get a few kamuis to put on my cues. I've been dying to put a kamui on but the everst on the OB2 has to do for now.

This is copied from BENFICA wanted/for sale thread for the description;

After many years of research and development & inspired by player requests, Tiger has created the latest masterpiece, Emerald Laminated Cue Tips. New (medium hard) Emerald laminated cue tips are made with recycled pig leather splits and laminated with water based custom-made adhesives to get the maximum strength for lamination. Skived with 10 consistent layers in Tiger's factory (Burbank, CA) and laminated with Vaculam™ ( vacuum lamination process ) Emerald tips are the most economic and environmentally friendly laminated cue tips ever.

Go green and save!

Hardness: Medium Hard
Durometer (Type A): 96
Tip Diameter: 14 mm only

Great looking tip. I wanted to try them but 96 is a little to hard for me:D

I just don't like the way they look. I'm accustomed to the Everest and I also have a Sniper that I've yet to install. The Green may be too hard for me anyhow.

My question is ... Why is it "recycled leather"? Where does this leather come from? For the record I am an everest fan. .... Again, just curious as to the why.

To answer your question my best guess would be from other Tiger tips?
Maybe Corey be able to chime in and give us some light on your good question

what is the durometer on sniper tips? i have a sniper and love it, but i have problems with frequent glazing. anyone know?

I have the same problem with my sniper tip (frequent glazing - frequent Tip Piking helps), and it doesn't "play soft" as some say - it's the hardest tip I've used, harder than Moori Q, Molavi, Everest, etc.

i belive its around 70 while moori Q is over 80 if i remember correctly so its quite weird yall think it hits harder than moori Q.funny how different people have different experiences.
btw.
i used to shoot with sniper im shoot with moori Q now cuz i wanted a harder tip

If you wanted a harder tip, this is it. Try at least one to see if you like it.
Take care

thx for the tip i sure will try it after my moori runs out in couple of months

odd....very different than my experience. i've played with a lot of snipers and i didn't have a glazing problem. the moori's to me glazed over a lot. my snipers have never been really hard either, i'd describe them as "medium-soft". i've had a few moori M's and they all felt hard as a rock, way harder than my snipers

I think the differences in experiance are not only perceptions but variables in our equipment. Different joints, shaft design and ferrule density make a tip play differently from one cue to another. I think the only way to make a true tip comparison would be on identical cues. But wheres the fun in that? Personally I like the cool emerald color of these new tips. I've got 10 of them coming my way and I'm looking forward to seeing how they "feel". Don:cool:

Tiger rates both of them as 96 (sniper and emerald).??????

Never tried emerald, but IMO sniper starts off med-soft but ends up being hard as the layers reduces (this in the case of most layered tips , i guess), also when it starts to glaze. If you have 5-6 layers it plays real good.
