I heard

Someone told me that the Fast Eddies management wanted to charge all the players since they were showing UFC 100 so the tourney got shut down at 730 on Saturday night. Any truth to that?

i heard the same thing from a couple of guys that went. from what i was told, they only played one round of matches on saturday because they were going to show the fight

yep

yep. that is true. we had to finish everything by 7. we were able to play the first round matches and the first round on winners side. then we came back to play first round 1 loss side at 10 am.

Is there any results yet? when I saw the stream last night I saw chen beat dordek, little al was up on jp. charlie was playing silver for hot seat. What happened?

Anyone have any updated on who won.

I went to the tournament. What happened, only one round was played Saturday becuase Fast Eddies was going to charge everyone 5$ if you wanted to stay beyond 7pm. All 128 players returned Sunday morning.
IMO, Lewis and Paul did the correct thing, if we were asked to pay an additional 5 buck, some people would have *****ed about that. It is a pretty hard task to run a 128 player tournament and finish it before 2am
on Sunday. Hope everyone can learn for this and get better for the next tournament. Like always JMO

I occasionally have a conflict in my pool room with the UFC. I check months ahead of time and make sure that no UFC is going on at the same time I schedule a tournament. Usually the UFC events are scheduled a few months ahead of time. Fast Eddies must have not done their homework on this one. n

The Fast Eddie's Tour has this tournament at the FE in Austin every year on this same weekend. I don't think it's the tour at fault here - I assume it's the pool room that didn't inform them that they would be showing and charging for the fight?

Yep - played the opening round and then one round on the winner's side Saturday, then brought back 128 players on Sunday morning. To add to that, 30 ladies entered the women's event and they were playing also on Sunday.

Man 3:30...Hope everyone made it home safe..

Who split it?

Sylver Ochoa on the winner's side and Charlie Bryant came back on the one lose side.

I watch it streaming the last 6 hours and wanted to see a rematch of Bryant and Ochoa thats why i sad "WTF"

After they split the money Bryant told Ochoa that he could tell everone that he won

Sylver DID win!! He defeated Hillbilly pretty handily on the hotseat match. Sylver is the ONLY player that emerged undefeated!!!

3rd/4th?

Any Idea who got 3rd and 4th?

I had a pick em bet with another player. We get points on their finish.

I had charlie, sylver, Davis Sr., David Henson, and little Al

She had Brandon Shuff, Davis Jr., Rick Stanley, Chen, and Gordon Van der Veer.

This is a pretty fun draft bet. You draft 5 players (decided by coin flip). then players receive points according to how they finish. 25 points for 1st, 15 for 2nd, 10 for 3rd and 5 for 4th.

Who won the ladies?

I dont know who won the ladies - there were 4 left when I stopped watching the stream - Julie Stephenson and Kim Sanders and Yvette Reyes (don't remember the 4th person).

I didn't do too well, lol. I wasn't into my games like I usually am, so I guess that's why I didn't play better like I can sometimes.

Thanks for asking!

Cristina was up 4-0 on Julie the last I heard. It was late in the tourney, maybe hotseat match.

I saw someone on my Facebook friends list congratulating Cristina for winning the tournament. Of course, that was on Facebook, wasn't at the tournament, but is a good friend of Cristina's. So, even though its not official, I believe it.

So, if Cristina won, and was playing Julie, then that must have been the finals match because Julie and Kim Saunders were playing for the hot seat. I left when I got knocked out by Cristina hill-hill for 5th/6th.

I'm sure we'll get the official word later from either Paul or Lewis after they've gotten home and got much needed sleep!
