Just like a ball park amount for labor only to strip off old cloth on the rails and then replace the rubber and then recover them back with new cloth.
thanks

My charge would be $250 labor only regardless of table size and assuming
I didn't have to rebuild any part of the rails.

How about this

What would be the ballpark price for labor only to:

refelt and level a 8' kasson w/ 3 piece italian slate in the Boston area?? I've been thinking of using simonis

MY starting labor is $300.00 and I say starting because I can't price something that may have to be done as an extra. Rails could be really stapled out and need repaired, slate frame may need repaired...who knows, but that's where I'd start at.

Yeah that's what I figured. Well if your ever in the Boston area I'd love to have YOU refinish my table but I won't hold my breath.:frown: Maybe you know someone in the New England area?

That's about right, but that also wouldn't include remounting the rails.

Installing or Remounting rails would be extra.
$250 assuming a straightforward job to remove rail cloth and cushions, replace cushions & facings and recover the rails.
Timewise about 4 hrs @$60 per hr plus shop materials. Come to think of it I haven't raised the hourly rate since 1996.
Note to self. :D

If on inspection the rails have a problem the job stops until we agree on what will be done and the cost to correct the problem.

Ballpark around $300 - $350 as RKC suggested assuming no problems.
We used to be a Kasson dealer and the only table they made that was a PITA was the Aurora.
Rest of their model line was fairly simple setup altho using the rubber featherstrips took
a little getting used to but they work fine.

This is a gold crown 1 that needs the rubber replaced and the angles cut and the rubber shims replaced and then recover the rails back with cloth.
thats about what i thought about 350.
thanks

There is a little more work to a Gold Crown 1. The skirting underneath takes more time. That is why i asked what kind of table. Also a ball return takes more time.
Thanks, Ron

If I hand you 6 rails to replace the cushions and recloth them I fail to see
what difference the type of table makes. I think you're over-analysing this one.

Rick, You can think what you want. Do you sell billiard supplies or work on tables? I am just wondering? Bring your tools to Chicago and lets meet.

Nothing to think about. I asked you a simple question and got no answer.

It's rather common knowledge I'm in the billiard supplies business - and also do tables at my discretion.
Been doing both since 1996 so is there some question there?

If $300 is your price great. Mine is $250. Seems like the same ballpark which is what the OP asked.
I'm looking at it as if the guy is handing over the rails which is my take from the initial post.
If the rails are still on the table and have to be removed then reinstalled - higher price.

That's what I was quoting, you take the table apart, hand me 6 rails, I do my work, and you put it back together. The $250 does not include additional facings, or extending the sub-rails. It covers stripping the rails, replacing the cushions and facings, then installing the cloth...then handing the rails back to you:D nut plate repair included!
