I just came back from my pool lesson and I learned something that is gonna change my game forever.
He said "Ok Remy, listen to this, I don't believe in deflection. I never compensate for deflection. All I compensate for is the 'throw' effect which varies with the amount of spin on the QBall. I stroke in a way that deflection will never happen"
He started to explain me that all the QBall weight is right in the center of the sphere but its so sensible that the slighest hit on the side will make it curve (we all knew that) so he said 'in order to remove that effect, play really high on the cueball or really low(without trying to backspin) and you'll never have to compensate your aim for that...only for throw"
I didn't believe him so he asked me to play several long distance shots that required A LOT of spin to get position for the next ball and surprisingly, all I had to do was to throw the ball in with extreme top or bottom(obviously you adjust for the position that needs to be achieved...but you NEVER hit on the horizontal axis). I succeeded with 10/10!!!
I stood up and said 'Wow this game is a lot easier now!' and I bursted out laughing for how cool it was
