The Greatest Finals Matches in the last 30 Years

I have that WPC 9-ball final between Strickland and Bustamante on tape. I was actually watching it today while I converted it to DVD. What a match. I was pulling for Busta, with the passing of his infant daughter. It was a great match. Too bad about the sportsmanship by Strickland during the tournament, and the excessive celebration of standing on the table and saying "I'm king of the world" in front of Bustamante before he even shook his hand.

Bustamante about his loss in '02 to Earl at WPC. This is a great thing to think about and perhaps a good mental game secret.

“I tried to stay composed,” he said. “That’s why I didn’t watch the table when he was shooting. It’s bad karma, because watching and wishing for a mistake only frustrates you.”

Thanks for the link Jason!

During the recent pool school with Nick Varner he showed us a kicking system. He started out by telling us a story of being down 13-14 to Earl in the finals of a tournament and playing a two rail kick on him. The system he showed us was the two rail system he used to kick a ball in and go on and win the tournament.

I think #15 is the finals he was talking about.

yo Santos Sambajon takes the cake with post victory celebration lol. Second would be Earl jumpin on top of the table..

I recall Karen Corr dancing on the table also. It was after a big tour win, she jumped on the table and did an Irish jig. Everyone thought it was funny when she did it, yet when Earl does it it's considered unsportsmanlike.

I personally don't think this was unsportsmanlike. In pool, I don't even think it is unsportsman like to celebrate before shaking the opponents hand. That's just the nature of winning. Your supposed to be excited after a big win.

I have spoken my opinion of Earl's "antics" before, I'm fine with this.

I don't think it's unsportsman like either. BTW, my post wasn't directed at you, just directed at people in general.

I know you weren't directing your comment at me. I was just defending your point. I was defending your point from the perspective that I have and continue to disagree with many of his shenanigans.
