While I appreciate the invitation to Google until my hearts content, I must admit that I had already done that prior to making my first post in this thread. The one common theme from it all is that if the bonding mtrl. creates a bond that is stronger than the mtrl. it's bonding, then anything more is a moot point.
You quoted my statement of 'Devcon being a superior product' as though you may have question with that. For the sake of clarification let me add what I carelessly omitted. Devcon is a superior product for this application and for cue construction in general. Please refer to my first paragraph about moot point.
In the 20+ yrs. that I've been building cues, I've been using Devcon with no problems. Hopefully you could understand that I'm someone who, once I've found something that works for me on a particular application, I tend to stick with it until I have reason to change. I kind of adhere to the old adage of, "if it ain't broke. don't fix it". I also appreciate consistency. Devcon 2 ton does exactly what I expect it to do every time. It's very predictable.
A wise man made a statement in a recent thread stating "There are many different 'correct' ways to make a cue." I think that it applies here as well. If you are happy with what you are using then I am happy for you.

if you are happy with 2 ton then that is great for you,but you asked me if i cared to share my info and you also stated in the cuemaker section that 2 ton is a superior product and 66% stronger,and while it may be compared to one particular budget 5 minute that you happen to have it just isn't true of the good 5 minutes in general.
No, because radial tap needs some clearance at the bottom.
I cut a 5/16 maple dowel about 1/4 thick and plug up the bottom after tapping.
Epoxy fills the whole thing. I let it pop.
Might be an overkill but I like the tone of 100% filled hole.
