The Texas Open is the longest running 9Ball tournament in the US. and a coveted Title.

I think the players that are planning on playing in it should be aware, that If they contribute to or win a qualifier that the NCS Event is the same weekend as the Texas Open.

I think either tournament would be an honor to play in. Lots of opportunities to play across the country this particular weekend (not just these two tourneys).

Ray, we going to the Rice Bowl? Fire Bowl? China Bowl? wth is it called? lol

True, but there are not qualifiers for the Texas Open.

ooooo air conditioning! Thats fancy stuff right there! I may actually consider going now that they have fancy amenities! Thanks for checking on that Cristina, thats the biggest reason I haven't been back in a few years! If I decide to go, I hope to see everyone there! Luvs!
 
i'm assuming the tournament is starting friday morning and not saturday morning, going by the dates. is this correct ?

Players meeting starts Friday evening. Play starts Saturday.

This gives three full days for the tournament to run.

Nope. It starts Friday evening the 4th. Same as every year. we will go over the rules,answer questions and have the advanced players meeting. I wish they would go ahead and kick off a round too!!!

You're right Ray! I just remember that play doesn't actually start until Saturday. Now what time does it start on Friday night? :p

I just spoke to Lewis. The players meeting will start at 9pm on Friday night.

Additionally........The winner of the August 1st "B" player event in Waco will win a paid entry to the Texas Open!!!!

Can't wait!!!

Gary Welling is back!!!

Good news, I just got a call from the stubborn old fart right now and Gary sound,,JUST GREAT! I was so happy to hear from him.

Gary is geting around angetting stronger and stronger and WILL be at theOPEN in afew weeks. This was like music to my ears and I just couldn't imagine the tournament without him. By the grace of GOd though, he will be there.
I just can't get over how well he sounds and he said surely looked forward to seeing everyone.
I know he will view this thread, so let's every one welcome Gary back!!!!

No, It should not be on the 3rd page. This should be the best event of the every year in Texas.

Don't forget to get your entries in early either.

I think it ijust great taht Gary will make this after all.
 
Getting fired up!!

This is gonna be a special year for the Texas Open as there will be numerous top players getting ready to compete in the World Classic the week following this event!

The deadline for early entry is rapidly approaching!! CALL Now!!

I will be streaming the entire event LIVE and will also have commentary, match updates and hopefully some play by play on some non-streamed tables too!
