That brazilian rosewood is incredible. I like how he kept the rings simple so that the wood could do the talking.

Got to see that cue a few months ago hanging up and Mike said thats as basic of a cue he will make and he won't do it again. Then he told me the price........very nice cue to own and the jp's are great too, I know Mike loves to make them (insert sarcasm here)...

from brazil ...

here is a shot of the wood Mike took before he started on it :

first and foremost, i have to say a truly big THANK YOU to Mike... i know the demands he has on his time yet he is always so gracious on the phone.. he never rushes thru a conversation and i always walk away knowing more ...

this particular cue is, in my limited humble opinion, in that rare category that dennis searing classifies as "magic" cues. the ones that you pick up and just know that it is special .. there are many empirical ways to gauge a cue... it's strength of follow or draw, shaft taper, deflection, etc but every once in a while, there comes a cue that actually merges with you.. becomes an extension of your arm, eye, brain communication network and simply pots balls .. no fuss. no drama.

now i must say that 2009 has been a fabulous year for cues for me.

i have rec'd some real gems from truly great cue makers - most have played well beyond my skill level .. and as such, i have had to adjust a tad here or 1/4 tip of english there.. this is undoubtedly due to my own shortcoming as a player.

but with this cue...

it could be that i have been to mike's place and he has seen me fumble around and in his infinite kindness, he has made me this magic wand :)

whatever it is, this is a magnificent cue in every aspect for me.

it oozes with character and screams to be played with.

it is delicate to the touch and wonderfully balanced.

the materials top notch and the execution flawless.

this, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, is a player !

what a beautiful cue, love the wood. Mike does do excellent work, you ought to bug him for some end caps. I did and they are absolutely beautiful.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I was very surprised to see Mike make this cue. Didnt think it would happen. It is a beautiful piece of wood. And yes, I will bet it is a helluva player. Mike makes cues that almost just play by themselves they are that good. His work is 2nd to none and I know, even though I hardly ever play anymore, I will always have my Cochran as my player. Thanks for the pics, and Mike if you read this, thanks for doing what you do. Keep it up.

Mike refuses to build plain cues.

But there is nothing plain about your cue! It may be the only merry widow cue he ever offers for sale at any price in the future. Mike must respect you alot.
Michaels philosophy is that anyone can build a plain cue. His cues reflect what only the best can achieve. The rosewood joint sets this cue apart from just about anything on earth that I have seen.
I love it! Easy to understand why I mine is my player for life, yes!
Phenominal cue Mr Kam,
Nick :)

Very nice looking BR cue you have there Kam. Brazilian Rosewood is one of my favorite woods used in cues. Congrats to ya sir.

Kam also carried this bad boy yesterday. It was a cue that I love at first look. You can see from my small collection that I love good wood. This was something very different. The hit of the cue is something different as well. Very nice and crisp. It plays really good. Awesome cue in every aspect.

I played with this cue on Saturday with Kam and Jhun.

This cue plays very well, solid hit, good balance and from my experience...... Braz is the best hitting wood out there.

Fantastic figure in this cue

That is what I was talking about. No offense. I love Mikes work. I just didnt think he would ever build one with his name on it. I love the cue. I know it has to play REAL good. I would love to have that cue. Thanks for the pics and enjoy it as I know you will.
