For several years now, when I am in the mood, I add a little post to my blog. Most of the information is all first draft stuff with no editing so please pardon any of the grammar errors, spelling errors and poorly organized stories.

The stories date back several years and some of them are just plain fun but every one of them are all true.

Today, I added one about the infamous SPORT PALACE and it includes an actual newspaper article that I recently scanned and uploaded.

To read the newspaper articles you can simply double click on them and they will show themselves at the actual size I scanned them at as they look pretty small on the blog.

Search around on the right hand side of the blog where the stories date back to 2000.

There's a lot of reading so browse around and see if you find something you like.

I will be adding other stories like "A Drink of Water for my Kingdom" in the future, a story about my chance meeting with Efren Reyes. You can read about that on AZ Billiards if you do a search in the main forum.

First of all... I need to check out some of this boiled seafood you speak of. I imagine it's spicy as hell, but well worth the outcome.

I also took notice to the cue at the bottom of your blog. Who made that? It's looks amazing!

Unfortunately, there is no place like the Sport Palace where the seafood was so well manicured by Pete. Still there are many places in New Orleans where fresh boiled seafood can be had but there will never be another place like the Sport Palace.

Mike Bender made that cue. It is a tribute cue that I designed with his help and the help of Tracey Dunham, his talented and artistic wife.

I seem to be having some problems accesing your blog site this morning. I have read some of your blog material in the past and am especially interested in what you have to say about the Sports Palace from way back when.

I visited the Sports Palace on many occasions back in my younger years, since I grew up about an hour outside of New Orleans. I have played many of the older players who used to frequent the Sports Pallace 20 and even 30 years ago.

I played Ernie Sellers, Frank White and Lenny Cotonio way back when I was in my late teens and 20s, and even more recently, Mark Cavalier and Eddie Brown.

I spent quite a few years after my early 20s in North Carolina, North Alabama and Texas, so I haven't even been in there is quite a few years if it is even still in business.

Frank White, Ernie Sellers, Eddie Brown and Mark Cavalier are aliveand wll. Lenny died many years ago. Ernie is in his very late 70's or early 80's and while he gets around quite well, doesn't seem play pool any longer.

The Sport Palace is still there but the character of the place has changed DRASTICALLY. I no longer go there.

Frank is thinking about making a comeback, Mark Cavalier sits on the sidelines waiting to hit the lottery and enjoying life nevertheless. Eddie Brown continues to take scalps at every opportunity.

I just checked the blog and it is up and working. To read the newspaper articles, just click on them either once or twice quickly and the full size image will appear and you will be able to read the article just as it appeared in the newspaper.

There is a picture of me, Railroad Willie (who passed away recently) interviews with different local personalities many of which were professionals by trade.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the peep into the past.

That is one hell of a setup with the case and matching cue. VERY STRONG!

Come on now, you read the WHOLE blog in one morning??? :D

Check back every few months. I'll add more material and try to improve my writing by working the drafts over a time or two before posting.
