I Can't Afford a Justis Case

Jack Justic

I have three Jack Justic cases and several other cases. The Jack Justic cases are hand down the best case I have ever owned. The protect well are very well make and are great looking as well. I have never had any problem with a sue being nicked by a case. Best of all I knoe Jack and he is a upstanding gentleman and a man of his word. If you have a problem I know Jack will make it right.

Are you sure you didn't hit the light on the break? Any sharp edge can easily do what you have described.

Your statement about the cues clanking around is untrue. This is one of the reasons I went to the ProLite interior which is resilient and allows the butts and shafts to move in unison rather than the butt hitting against the side of the pvc tube type case.

In order for me further investigate your complaint, please furnish the name of the person from whom you purchased this case. If the case damaged your cue, I'm sure it must have damaged cues prior to yours.

No, I did not hit the light on the break. If i had, it would have hit the shaft, not 2 inches from the joint. And, when I break, I break with a sneaky pete I have, I never break with my playing cue.

The cues clanking around in the case is not a fabrication. I have no reason to make that up. Like I have said before, I would probably buy another one of your cases, I am sure what happened to my cue was not normal.

I have no doubt about that...I would not even hesitate to call him if I had a problem. But at the particular time this happened, much bigger things were goig on and this was set on the back burner, and i got rid of the cue and the case.

I have no doubt in my mind Jack cares about his work and the cues that go into the cases he makes. But people pming me saying I am making this up and why am I trying to hurt Jacks reputaion is nonsence....I am pretty much a nobody in the pool world, Jack has a long history of customer service. My 2 complaints on 1 Justis case I owned will not hurt him one bit. And no, I am not trying to smear his good name. And for Jack to say what I am saying is not true is complete nonesence. Something could and I am sure happend to the case after it left his shop, he has no control over that. But to pretty much call me a liar is uncalled for.

Would you please let me have the name of the person you bought the case from so I can check to see if they had any cue damage prior to selling you the case???

Honestly when I was in Sin City in MAY of 2009, I looked at the Justis West Cases, in Michael's of OMEGA's booth. IMHO the Justis Wests are a DAM FINE COPY of the Cases Jack makes in his Florida Shop.

If I wanted a Justis Pro-Lite, and could not afford a case that Jack built, I would pull the trigger on a JUSTIS WEST from Micheal.

Same Cases basically made off shore, with out all the options, but made under License granted by Jack.

All I'll say about the ding debate is that it would be impossible for my justis case to harm my cue. It would have to happen before I put it in or after I take it out. The shafts fit very snug and are well padded.

Jack, I sent you a PM, let me know if you got it. I noticed you state you have your pm's turned off though

How much are you looking to spend? I may have a couple used nice leather cases that you would be happy with (instroke-whitten).

I just received the email copied below from the previous owner of the 3 x 6 Justis ProLite case. I hope your now convinced that the damage to your cue is not related to the case.

Hi Jack...I never noticed any damage to my cues while I owned the case. The reason I got rid of it was to buy another one of your cases, I wanted a 2x4 instead. I hope everything works out!

Sorry Jack..all I know is what happened. I know it did not happen before it went into the case, or after. Dont have a clue as to exactly how it happened either. All I know is what I have said...you can either take it, or leave it. Its really not worth my time to argue over. But I do know it did in fact happen.

And as for the original owner not having any damage to his cue, that is actually a good thing. Like I said...it may have been a fluke..

You can say whatever you want. All I wanted to do was prove that the the case did not put a nick in your cue. I think this has been accomplished and anyone reading this now can come to the same conclusion.

Sorry, it was not on there before it went into the case, and it was on there when i pulled it out of the case 45 minutes later....You have proved absolutely nothing to me.

Listen. I respect you and what you do. I would probably buy another of your cases. The "MAGICAL" nick on the cue would not make me not buy one of your cases. What I have stated on here is not going to make people stop buying your cases.

Heck, something small and abrasive could have fell into the case at some point, and it just happened to put a nick in my cue. I dont know...I dont really care. All I know is, when I put the cue into the case, there were absolutely no nicks in the cue...none.....and when I pulled it out of the case approx 45 minutes later, I noticed a nick it it.....

I can guarantee you this, it happened while in the case, either it was the case, or a foreign object....but it did happen in the case. I have no idea how it happened, but it did.

Jack, you've heard the expression "That's my story and I'm stickin to it"?

But thanks for the proof ... not that we needed any.

I totally see what your saying....but, the cue absolutely did not have a nick in the clearcoat before it went into the case...and it did have a nick in it when I pulled it out 45min later at another pool hall. This is not an unheard of circumstance. I have 1 other PM from a fellow AZer that stated he had his Black Boar damaged in his case as well.

That was me with the Boar, I will say that that cue does have a soft finish on it, so in all fairness to Jack it could have been the finish too. The jury is out on this. I will state for the record that I like the tube style cases better, I'll deal with the weight for the tubes. But thats just my opinion.

I didnt make this a public matter because the Jury is out. And its the only cue I've had a issue with in any of Jacks cases with any of my cues. So I didnt want it even mentioned in public, as I dont want to harm Jacks reputation or cost him sales for a one time thing. Beleive me if there was a issue with more than one cue then I would say something to Jack and help him resolve the issue. But since its one cue its not a issue. Please dont let this one time thing change your mind about Justis cases.

Jack builds fantastic cases, He has built some of the finest cases ever made, the exotic skins he uses are of the highest standard(I know a good bit about African hides, pelts, skins). Jack dosent cut any corners his hardware is top quality.

One time I had a strap crack on a regular Justis case, it was a new case. I told Jack when I saw him at a tournemnt or something-it wasnt urgent. When I got home I had a replacment waiting there for me. Thats how Jack rolls. The replacment strap will last for years, it was just a dry patch in the leather and caused a crack.

It is not conclusive, just because it didn't happen before it doesn't mean it could not have happened. Anyway you make great looking cases. If your cases came with separate tubes I would buy one....... JB seems to put a lot of material into tubes so they can be held in place tight.....

Anyway cheers........

I agree with everything you have said. I am not trying to tell people to not buy a Justis, I have had 3 and this was the only issue. Again like I have stated, I have NO CLUE as to how the cue got the nick. But it was not on before it went into the case....It could have been anything...I dont know.

I do know I like and prefer the tube style Justis cases over the Pro Lite. I have no doubt that if I would have told Jack about the isse when it happened, he would have looked into it.

Like I have said before...Jack makes a great looking case. I will more than likely own another someday.

Wow!!!!

I don't own a Justis case primarily because I can't afford on either. But I really got to chime in here and say it seems as though no believes ftgokie. Not only that it seems that he is being attacked to a degree while explaining himself. I believe him and don't think posters kept an open mind concerning the subject matter.

I think Jack has a great product and it is in really high demand right now. I am just weary of someone who seems to use the method Jack uses to protect his market. I read this entire thread and don't think I saw anywhere an apology from Jack about the possibility that HIS case could have put a scratch on it.

Anyone who makes a product should always consider problems brought to their attention by the customer. Without an open mind their would only be 1 cue and 1 case on the market. Think about it!!!

I was kindof wondering why I was being attacked myself. I made a statement that I know was true and Jack started pretty much calling me a liar and telling me that from the few exchanges on this thread that it was aboslutely 100% not his cases fault. I really like his cases and will own another sometime. I think he should have been more tactful and maybe sent me a PM asking me what problems I have had with one of his cases. I would have been happy to do this between me and him and not on here.

I just made a statement, and I still stand by my statement

"Id go with a J Flowers tribute case....they offer the protection your cues need and look good........to me the Justis cases are nice looking, but dont protect your cues as well "

I would love to own another tube Justis case.....so I am not bashing him at all. If I were, i would say I wouldnt ever own another Justis. But like I have said over and over...I think it may have just been one of them things that happen.

If you would have contacted me immediately after getting the nick in your cue I would have handled the situation much differently.

Out of the blue, without contacting me, without any proof whatsoever, you made a statement saying your cue was nicked in a Justis case. If you make a statement like this, you need something to back it up other than air coming out of your mouth. You have nothing to back it up and keep saying the same thing. If you cannot see this you are blind. You are the one that should be apologizing.
