Toughest Weeknight Tournament?

I'm sure there has already been discussion on this at some point but I felt the need to revisit it since weekly tournaments change so often. I walked into Orange Ball Billiards in Rockville, MD on Wednesday night and found a pretty tough field. Just to give you an idea, the top 8 players had all won open-level events and a couple had won pro events. There were a few good shortstops and a number of other guys that don't have to lose a race to 5 against an A player. I made the statement that it had to be the toughest tournament in the country on that particular Wed night. Just to give you an idea, in no particular order, we were looking at:

Ryan McCreesh
Mike Davis (passing through town)
Manny Chau
Scott Tollefson
Pookie
Danny Green

The tournament is $20 entry, Races to 5/3, with a single set, staggered finals (winner's side winner goes to 5, loser's side winner goes to 7). I recommend this tournament to anyone who is looking to improve their game. For $20, to be guaranteed two matches, and one of those matches might be against a pro player, you can't beat it.

I understand that First Break in Sterling, VA has a lot of those same players for their Thursday night tournament, similar format.

I travel a lot for work and I'm curious to hear of other top weekly tournaments around the country, what night, entry fee, format, etc. Thanks

Uh, I think you left out a few names. Tom-Tom, Parks, Brian Deska, Jersey John, and that newly married Joey Ryan guy. Have I left anybody out?

Read here and enjoy!
