the paradise has been verified by a few people but i wasnt there when he made it so i understand it is hard to tell who made cues like this. i have seen a pic of a guy that restored one that looked exactly like this but had a few less inlays. it is in amazing condition. think he is looking for around 2000.

the palmer is def a palmer, it is also in amazing condition....asking 1700.

make an offer on the paradise or call me 407 953 8984

both cues belong to an old friend of mine that doesnt use az. i dont even know if he uses the internet :o) i will check and see what he wants for it today so i will have an answer but will not be able to post it untill later this evening. the guy also buys and sells gold and diamonds so if anyone were to offer a trade he may accept that. he also plays with a 4pointer josswest with the jw, needs refinishing but he is selling that also i think he wants 1500 but i dont have pics. i will try and get them today. new lower price 1400

thanks
chaz

It's 100% a Mali....

JV

I JUST HAD A GUY IN MY ROOM A FEW WEEKS BACK, WITH THIS SAME MODEL THAT INSISTED IT WAS A PARADISE. I REALLY HOPE IT'S NOT THE SAME CUE. I TOLD THE GUY THAT IT 100% WAS NOT A PARADISE. (I TOLD YOU THE STORY)

Marcus

i have new pics of the palmer and have examined the "paradise" or whatever it is. it is not the mali. the ringwork near the joint is different and the inlays in the forearm do not match. the ringwork above the wrap does also not match. if anyone is an expert on paradise please pm me your contact info and i can send u better pics.

thanks
chaz

ps i still dont know what it is. maybe it is, maybe its not. make offers on any of the cues please.

I would run it by Mark Kulungian from Pool Table Magic / Classic Cues as I think he is quite knowledgeable in these older cues.

Balabushka is his pet for sure but he would probably be able to give you some excellent information (he may charge to appraise it, I'm not sure.)

You can tell him Jim Leach suggested him if you like.

Another to try is Paul Rubino as I think he is quite familiar with Paradise cues as well. His number is 845-496-3795

Good luck!

the dots between the points dont match either

The cue is 100% a Mali. The issue is even these production cue companies sent out "close" versions of their catalog cues. I can show you a dozen Palmers that are Model "J" or even "M" cues where the dot patterns are different. What I do believe is it's probably a mid 70's version as opposed to the 80's catalog version. But either way, it is without question a Mali.

im not saying your wrong but if mali was making knock offs how can u tell the real from the fake

IS THE RING ABOVE THE WRAP CRACKED?

WAS THIS CUE UP HERE IN MY AREA A FEW WEEKS?

Marcus

P.S. I DON'T CLAIM TO BE A PARDISE EXPERT, BUT THIS CUE IS NOT ONE OF HIS. IT IS EITHER A MALI, OR AN OLD BRUNSWICK THAT WAS MADE BY MALI. THE PIN, THE JOINT, THE RINGS, THE BUTTCAP, THE BUMPER ARE ALL WRONG FOR ONE OF FRANKS CUES.

It's not a knock off. It's their model. The problem is anyone who has one of these cues, immediately thinks that over use of mother of pearl automatically makes it a Paradise. There were two of these floating around Valley Forge this past March, neither guy could handle the news that the cue was a Mali. Actually one was the cue with the eagles in the bottom.

well like i said i dont know. but what is the mali worth anyhow? other than that the last paradise i saw looked very similar so i wanted to know if there were actual differences in the production of cues that would be able to help me distinguish a paradise from others other than looking at pictures.

THE PIN, THE THICKNESS OF THE JOINT, THE RINGS, THE POINTS, THE FACT THAT THIS CUE HAS VINYL VENEERS, THE PUSH IN BUMPER, THE NON-DELRIN BUTTCAP, AND I'M SURE THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT I AM OVERLOOKING. GOOGLE FOR SOME FRANK PARADISE PICS, THE BUILD DIFFERENCE IS HUGE.

THESE ARE PICS I GRABBED IN A QUICK SEARCH, YOU CAN SEE THE BUILD AND QUALITY DIFFERENCES.

THANKS TO Joe, Mark, Dick, and Scot

yeah i researched and saw all of those too. the shafts look similar as far as the pilot. but those cues are newly refinished and the span of the cues he made in the beginning to the end vary so much as far as look and what i would say quality.
