Kudos to TAR

So 3-4 years ago it was so great to see ANY pool streamed on the internet. cameras, quality, production didn't really matter, we were just so excited to see some live action.

Along comes TAR.

The quality of their whole operation from Customer Service to commentary to updates to final product has spoiled me. I no longer am just happy to see live streams. If its a TAR production, I know exactly what I am going to get. A wonderfully executed production from guys who are available via cell phones 24x7. We don't have to try to get a message to the "powers that be" to adjust a camera angle. They are either live with us in the chat or someone can pick up the phone and call them.


IMO All big tournaments should be begging these guys to run the show.
I am amazed that the World Classic guys didn't take the numerous offers by TAR.

them out with the mess of streaming they were doing, and
I don't think they took him up on his offer.

But a big thank you to Justin for doing that.

I really don't know why they never contacted TAR to begin
with or when they found out they had lost their other folks.

But kudos Justin.

Thanks for the kind words they mean more than you guys know.

I want be clear about one thing.

I talked to some people in Galveston who are working for the promoters on Saturday and told them I would bring Andy Chen and our gear down the next day if they would pick up the travel. My guy mentioned that he would tell them and get a feel for if they were interested. Later that day I got some info that it was just not a good idea and to not worry about it. I do not know if the promoters ever directly got the offer. As with many things in pool there is more in play than just what makes the most sense.

I had spoken with the promoters in May at the BCAPL Nationals and they asked what it would take to get us there. I told them expenses and gave them a card. Never heard anything else and we didnt pursue it because of the fact that we kind of got the vibe that this was going to be a BIG MAJOR TV deal and we would just be off in the corner covering some small green room. We had no idea if anyone would even show or if the thing would actually happen. We have went out on a limb before and it usually costs us money we don't have, so we didn't chase this one. I think the promoters got some bad information and some bad guidance from the parties they chose to run the media. I think they have figured this out.

I am going down Wednesday and plan on talking to them and offering help for the next one. Honestly I wish Accu-Stats was there. They are the best in the business for taping tournaments and a field of this quality deserves the best. If they do another one and we can be a part of it we will try. Maybe a cozy little action room somewhere that runs all night long or if they ask us to do the main table I am sure we will have some new tricks up our sleeve by this time next year.
