OMG I felt so bad I left out thanking Cliff as well for the first match.
It was truly an evening of rock on one pocket.

Not a lot of up table one hole...great gaming though and they played their hearts out. I am so impressed with those guys...SD didn't really miss any balls Efren just moved like a ballerina!

What a GREAT match!!!!!

Efren had me laughing quite a bit. Whenever he made a mistake, he laughed at himself. What a great attitude.:)

I learned so much from the match. They make it look so easy.
(and I know now that some of the players who play one pocket in my room dont play as good as I thought they did.:D)

Efren and Shannon could sure make the game of one pocket look like a thing of beauty. There shot selection was amazing. Moving three and four or more balls away from their opponents pocket on one shot. I love seeing that stuff. Someone posted something awhile back about whether Efren was over the hill, or something to that extent. Ha,ha,ha, PPLLLLEEEEEAASSSSEEE!!!!!!!! He's the magician!

WOW! The one pocket Championship finals was one of the best that I have ever witnessed. My personal favorite though was the one pocket match where Shannon and Efren were playing for the hot seat. Shannon played some of the BEST one pocket I have ever seen for two straight games.

shannon showed a lot of class after the finals match. He could have played better but he didn't and that's just the way it was. I don't think I have ever seen anyone play better one pocket than the first two games that Shannone played when he knocked Efren into the one loss side.

Efren played very good but I have seen him play better. He played just good enough to get there. I am thrilled to have been at this tournament and witnessed these two great champions compete as they did.

Thanks again to everyone for tuning into the Live Stream. There is much much more going on for the next three days.

I saw the semi SD vs ER, SD played great while ER played not too great. Is he just making it exciting? And after that match I said SD will win it, no contest. So I pass on and did not watch the final as it will be almost 2am here. But to my surprise , again, ER just beat SD twice for the title.

Joey, great job in the booth! You're getting better each and every match. You've definitely proved to me that you know a thing or two about the game.

And I also have to say that Jeremy Jones provided extremely knowledgeable commentary as well. He predicted almost all the shots that were going to be played. I found it especially valuable when he described exactly how to hit certain shots. Probably not the most charismatic personality in the booth, but he's more than adequate if you want to learn a few things about the game.

As for Efren...the mark of a true champion is grinding out a win even though you don't have your best. Efren wasn't playing his best, yet he still came out on top.

Congrats to Shannon as well for an excellent showing!
 
Hadn't heard Jeremy Jones in the booth before. JJ was excellent. Provided insightful, top level player play by play and was spot on more often than not. He gave a lot of detail as to why to shoot certain shots and came off as very down to earth. Best I have heard so far.

You are absolutely right Joey. The matches between Shannon and efren were great. Shannon showed great talent, especially in the 1st match, where he was in some really, really tight spots and found ways to win with spectacular thinking and execution.
But you have to give it to Efren, He is graeat because he knows how to win. Amazing play.
You and JJ did a fantastic job, hope you are being compensated, you deserve it.
 
really awesome match, there was high drama in the match right up to the very end. Real rollercoaster ride for those of us betting on it. I must have thought both guys lost 3 or 4 times that final game. I still dont understand why Shannon elected to try that last shot which looked like double kisscity, instead of just driving the ball closest to efen's pocket out of there and leaving him up against the other two. Shannon has more 1p knowledge in his left toe than I have so who I am to 2nd guess his choice.

Great match and great job by JoeyA and Double J in the booth.

It's quite a skill JJ has for calling the right shots from a booth. It's one thing to be there looking at the table but he kept hitting the nail on the head from afar, over and over. He also predicted the players potential mistakes with great accuracy :P

Jeremy was in the booth again to night giving up all of the secrets of pool. We had a good time and will do it again.

I am going to try and get Corey in the booth tomorrow so stay tuned. Starting at 12:00 noon...

One should not forget that Double J was the past US Open One pocket Champion-late 90s when the US Open was held in k-Zoo, MI.:cool:
