Hello from Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Hotel! Room reservations are now being accepted for the Horseshoe Derby City Classic being held in January 2010. Rooms are limited, so book early. See http://www.dcctickets.com soon for event details.

There are two types of room reservations you can make this year. We are offering a discounted 9-day package for the entire period which spans all of the Derby City Classic events, arrive January 22 and depart January 31, 2010. You will also have the option to book individual dates for any time during the tournament at the regular rate if you wish.

Here are some very important notes on room reservation policies:
  • Every room reservation requires a charge of the first night's deposit up front.
  • This deposit is taken at the time of booking and is nonrefundable. No exceptions will be made.
  • A maximum of four people are allowed to stay in each room. Rollaway beds are not available.
  • If the discounted 9-day package is booked and any one of the nine nights is canceled, all room discounts will be revoked. Prices for all nights booked will revert to the full individual date prices.

Here is the information on each reservation type:

9-day package (limited availability, offered through 12/21/2009)
GROUP/OFFER CODE S01DPKG

9-day pkg @ $99.99/night, arriving Friday, January 22, 2010 and departing Sunday, January 31, 2010. Additional $10 per room night per extra room occupant when more than 2 occupants.

Please call 866-766-2671 for reservations and be certain to present Group Code S01DPKG in order to receive the package rate. A credit card is required at time of booking. The nonrefundable first night's deposit is charged for each reservation at the time of booking. Reservations for the 9-Day Package rate cannot be booked for fewer than the 9-day consecutive stay for the dates mentioned above. Cancellation of any day(s) within the 9-day package will result in all days reverting to the individual rates of $120 Sunday-Thursday, $140 Friday-Saturday. The Hotel will accept 9-day package reservations until December 21, 2009 or the block is full, whichever is first.

Individual Date Bookings (limited availability, offered through tournament start date)
GROUP/OFFER CODE S01HDER

Sun-Thu @ $120.00/night, Fri-Sat @ $140.00/night. Additional $10 per room night per extra room occupant when more than 2 occupants.

Please call 866-766-2671 for reservations or reserve rooms online at http://www.harrahs.com/CheckGroupAvailability.do?propCode=UEL&groupCode=S01HDER. Online reservations are currently unavailable, but I will post a follow-up message as soon as they are operable. When calling, please be certain to identify the Group Code S01HDER in order to receive the group rate. A credit card is required at time of booking. Reservations

Just made mine tonight (on the 28th). Could not get the full 9 day package rate. Individual dates are available at 120 and 140.

Online Booking available

You may now book individual dates online using the following link: http://www.harrahs.com/CheckGroupAvailability.do?propCode=UEL&groupCode=S01HDER. Click the Availability Calendar link to select your days. Do not forget that the first night is charged at the time of booking each reservation and is nonrefundable.

If you wish to book the 9-day package, please call 877-766-2671 and mention code S01DPKG. You must stay from January 22 through the night of January 30 to get the package rate of $99.99 per night. If you are requesting to stay more than the 9 nights, please let the reservations agent know that any surrounding dates will need to be booked as a separate reservation. In this scenario where you book the package and surrounding reservations, you will only be charged once for the deposit on the package reservation. You may not cancel any individual dates within the 9-day package, else all days will revert to the individual reservation price of $120 Sun-Thu/$140 Fri & Sat.

If you have questions, please keep posting. I will do my best to answer as quickly as possible.

Chris,

I just called the Horseshoe Res. line and got the story that Jan 22-23 and 29th is not available even with the group code. I was trying to book the 9 day stay. I had explained to the operator that there is no way it could be full, but he said that is what the system is showing.

Can you help?

S.

I called yesterday and they said they new nothing about the $99 a night deal. How many rooms were available at that price. One other thing I was told was, I could try and get the $99 a night deal while on the property but wouldnt that mean the day I arrived to check in and the deal is only good until December 21. Was this thread posted in the main forum also, if it was I missed it and it looks like it cost me.

Same with me....

Chris,

What is the deal? They are telling everybody there is no such thing, or that it is full already. Hopefully you guys communicate a lot better than that down there. I find it virtually impossible that you filled all your rooms in just 4 days. Fill us in please.

Thanks,
A paying customer from last year.

I know, I know! Rooms are there! DCC blocked off at least 300 Rooms for the event and the news just got out, so I know it didn't get all sold out.

The reservation people are 3rd party office and all they do is book rooms. The Horseshoe Indiana has to communicate with the Reservation people and update the data.

I can't blame the reservation clerk because they really don't have any idea what goes on each hotels and they are just going by what data shows up on the screen. That is why I decided to as Chris here directly.

There is a serious communication break down here.

S.

They told me to check back and see if someone cancels but I doubt that will happen. I wonder if there is anyway to get on a list or something in case anyone does cancel.

I assure you that rooms are available for the DCC

Thanks for your posts, everyone. Please keep them coming, good and bad. I know some of you have been frustrated when trying to book your stays. Here are some words of advice I can offer right now.

  • We have been contacting the call center on a daily basis to continue to follow up on the booking issues. Please be patient with us while the agents get over this learning curve.
  • Please make sure you give code S01DPKG only if booking the full 9 days from 1/22-1/30. The 9-day package must be booked separately from surrounding days. If you are only coming on miscellaneous days from 1/21-1/30, please only give the S01HDER code.
  • If you have the first name of a certain agent who says there is no availability, please reply to this thread and let me know the name.
  • Since we know rooms are available right now because it is coming from me, the Revenue Manager at the property, you can always try asking for a supervisor if the agent fails to tell you there is availability. It should not be this way, but maybe this could help the agents get up to speed on the event. If the supervisor tells you there is no availability, please give me their name.

Don't worry, we will get you guys in rooms. Please keep trying and keep up the communication with me and we will do our best to get the issues fixed.

So I tried to reserve the $99 package yesterday at about 5pm...I gave the promo code and spoke w a supervisor when the desk said they showed no availability. The supervisor(darn, didnt get name) said even if I wanted to spend $1000 a night there was still no availability. I related the ongoing problem with interested persons trying to make reservations and was told rooms were still not available.

I guess I will try again tomorrow:confused:

I tried again the following day and was successful after talking to another supervisor...the $99 package was still available.
