Ray its Mitzvah, when I left louisiana and moved to oklahoma many people took me under their wing. They looked out for me, they taught me, they became close friends. I always felt out of place where I was raised in the south. I felt like I grew up in tulsa and became the man I am today, they made me feel like I really belonged somewhere for the first time in my life. I moved home to finish school, and once again feel out of place. Which is why I brought tulsa to my living room by putting the 4 1/4" pockets on my table, just like the old palace table #1:)

I still remember seeing my name and my state on the top 5 of the mcdermott all american up there, everyone else was from oklahoma (man i was proud to represent) They really did fill my heart with joy and gave me more opportunities and chances to shine than I could have ever possibly wished for. And for that I owe more than I could ever possibly give.

I told robley that I sure wish I'd known him when I left LA for the midwest, for he would have stayed and been right where he needed to be to prosper. The kid's got a ton of heart, and everyone needs a little help wether the world thinks his endeavor is smart or not. There's something about this game that will teach you who you really are, and what you can become. He's trapped by his circumstances. With my help, your help, charlies help, marcus's help and all the rest of the wonderful people on this forum he could find exactly what he's been searching for all these years regardless if he becomes a world's champ.

If one can find meaning in the type of play that it takes to accomplish things in this absurd sport, then perhaps one can find meaning in another absurd past time.....LIFE.

Oklahoman at heart,
Keebie Fleniken II

Thank you all for showing heart, in a time when no ones got any anymore.
Thanks for helping my friend to acheive his goals in life and not be shackled by natural born circumstances.
God bless all of you.

What a post!!!! I too must say thanks for helping my friend. I don't know anyone that deserves all of this more!

Bob

someone needs to make him a shirt

AZBILLIARDS HORSE OF THE YEAR!

He is getting two AZ shirts so perhaps that can be embroidered on them! What a great idea! Might want to add after the word "year" -- 2009!?

Bob

great idea, and another pretty funny one for he who's name we shall not speak

Bob

I got a good friend that does embroidery I'll talk to robley later and see what he thinks. When he gets the shirts I will get it done if he likes the idea (i'm sure he will) thanks for collaborating on the idea brother:grin-square:

P.S. we should make some NIT of the year shirts too just not for him lol. I'm sure we could find some special inductees for that idea (like Fast Larry lmao)

Excellent -- does AZ have connections of all types or what!!!!! If anyone gets a NIT shirt they should be required to pose for pics (to be posted) and be streamed (for the archives) while wearing it!!!!

Bob <LMAO>

Words can't describe it.

I tell y'all what i'm a pretty hard SOB and it takes a good bit to move me,but ever since Robley started that first thread,I have just been blown away as this one has taken off to where its at now.I haven't been to the last few White Diamond tourneys but the last few I attended Robley stayed on this one table in Chris's place the whole time he was in there, grinding it out.The kid plays well, just needs a little tweaking and fine tuning,as we all do.I learn something new every set that I play, hell prolly every game I play.Anyway, just wanted to say good luck and all of the AZ'ers have done one hell of job getting him set up.If i wasn't unemployed at the moment I'd drop a few Benjamins myself, still might before it's all over with....................Rickey Anders

wow, i just read all the pages of this post... I haven't posted in here in quite some time... gave up pool after I got married... and probably was the biggest mistake ever!

Someone posted that the words "shuda wuda cuda" were always synonymous with pool... true words were never spoken.

I see that Robley is set with great equipment and loads of $.

What is the preference if I donate something? Do you need anymore equipment? would you prefer money? lemme know it will be in the mail!

Don't ever give up on your dream.... stay strong and keep that heart kiddo...
