Well I went up to play Pool today, gone beat up by an "A" Player in One Hole,
but our houseman said some one left me two more Pool Cues:smile::smile: for the kids. An old Dufferin, and a Stealth, both fairly straight, but will be put to good use.:wink:

An Open "Letter" from the President of Sterling Gaming
To the Billiards Community:
I would first like to say that I am proud that our company's employees have generally jumped on any opportunity to help support charities, causes, and individuals when we are asked to help. Most of the time, I don't even hear about these things until well after the fact. Our employees are empowered to do the right thing whenever we can.
Though we don't broadcast our contributions and support, we are frequently asked to help out, and frequently do. I'm proud that no one could ever make a legitimate claim that we have not done our very best to support the billiard industry and billiard community on all levels. From past and present sponsorships of many pro players to our support of the leagues, amateurs, fundraisers, world record attempts, our soldiers, and individuals in need, we've taken a stand to help.
Though there are some people and organizations out there that, for one reason or another, are disgruntled and may enjoy vocalizing mis-truths about us, I believe one would be hard-pressed to find a single, credible entity out there who could make a legitimate claim as to any malfeasance of our organization.
I was taught a long time ago that the only thing you ever truly have is a reputation, and it is something to be protected at all costs.
Roughly an hour ago after seeing something posted here that was unnerving, I phoned the poster to ask their reasoning for saying the things they did, since there was obviously some underlying reason for them to have done so. I can't say that the call was very enlightening to either party, but I did suggest that they make a sincere follow-up post that could help others to see that their post was simply a product of venting some pent-up hostility over some past miscommunications. I hope that they take this opportunity to clear things up a bit, thereby earning the benefit of the doubt from the community, so that their reputation will be less sullied.
To everyone out there, I encourage you to put pride aside and make the effort to communicate with those people with whom you may have some gripe. Life is too damn short to allow any time to be squandered holding grudges, or making mountains out of mole hills. Though the sport and the business of billiards is in a horrible state, taking that out on one another is hardly the appropriate tack to take to right the helm.
My hat is off to those of you who are the conduits between those in need, and those who will help. Your services are critical, and we thank you for helping us to help others.

I actually think the fire is burning out of the cause on AZ B, but the kids appreciate what all the people of AZ B have done.
I actually just got home from the Peoria Club after dropping off a few more things, they now are pretty well pool taken care of, any 11 ONLY More Clubs Sites, and 6 TEEN CENTERS TO GO!:wink:

I want to say two or three things.
The first thing is I want to get this off of my Chest. Jamison, I've lurked here for right around a year and a half and I have not seen a SINGLE post of yours that has been helpful, informative, or generally in anyway shape form or fashion good.
Do us ALL a favor and stop hijacking threads that are about POOL PLAYERS DOING GOOD!!!!! Its hard enough to shake the images that we're all snakes in the grass waiting to prey upon anyone dumb enough to wander in. SO carry YOUR PROBLEMS WITH STERLING TO PM!
Secondly I want to say Coco you don't seem to be taking credit for anything other than delivery and notifying. You are doing an awesome job sir, and I'm extremly happy to see that the boys and girl's clubs are getting the things they need. It really proves that the pool community isnt what we are made out to be.
Third. I personally want to thank everyone whose donate because I can remember ball banging in a boys and girl's club. Granted I didnt get the 'bite' to learn back then, but it sure did keep me out of trouble.

I don’t know who you are or what you do in the billiard industry, but even if I did I would still tell you the things I’m about to say. Obliviously you have an ax to grind with Scott Taylor and Sterling Gaming. May I suggest you “man up” and handle your grievances in private instead of infecting this forum with your hateful innuendos. To imply that Sterling Gaming donated cues to children in need strictly for public relations purposes is ludicrous to say the least. Scott Taylor, John Barton and all the fine people at Sterling Gaming have a history of being there and helping others wherever and whenever they can.
I had never met Scott or John in person until they appeared in my driveway, unannounced; a couple of days after Hurricane Katrina had ravaged my community. I won’t go into detail about what they did for me and my family personally because you may think my opinion of them is biased. Instead, I will tell about how they helped complete strangers. I consider myself privileged to have been given the opportunity to ride with them in a van they had filled with food, water and other much needed supplies. One of which just happened to be a large box of candy bars for the children they encountered. While John Barton was standing in line to buy ice for people that had no way to keep their food or water cold, I doubt he was thinking of ways to sell them some cue cases. While Scott Taylor was up to his elbows in engine grease trying to fix the only vehicle an indigent family owned and desperately needed, a family he had just met five minutes earlier, I doubt he was thinking of a way to sell them pool cues. They assisted stranded motorist along Interstate 12, helped people get hot meals and gave hope and reassurance to everyone they met. The list goes on and on.
Now I’m not saying that Scott and John are saints. None of us are. Nor is it our job to judge others. But I will tell you this… they help others because they want to. They do it because it’s what their heart tells them to do. And they do it unselfishly and without expecting anything in return.
In closing, just let me say that during these difficult economic times the last thing we need is all this silly bickering. It is time to heal old wounds and work together. The future of our beloved sport depends on it. And it’s the right thing to do.
