8-ball has so many tactics and decisions to make, it's not just a run-out game. It is amazing he could just go in to a tournament never playing that game before and winning against such high caliber players.

I bet he couldn't just read a rule book and win 1-pocket though.

I have a hard time believing that he never played, practiced or new "how to" play 8-Ball.

My guess is he was too young to play pool at a bar, where 8-ball is the most common game played. He was trained to be a pool playing machine, and I guess 9-ball was the game.

It can be, when you're playing so well you run out every time. A lot of times when the pros play, the tactics that define the game at lower levels just don't appear, because they run out instead.

True, but once I saw a video of Johhny Archer playing 8-ball. He ran 4 racks in a row, and while the other person was racking he said to someone standing next to him he never ran 4 racks of 8-ball before. I'm sure he has ran more than 10 racks of 9-ball before. Well, this is just only Johnny Archer though right? I wish I could see the vids of Wu playing, I wonder how many racks he ran continuous.

it was alternate break. But he did only run three racks on his break.
 
I watched JA play Nick Varner in an exhibition 8 ball match, race to 11 in Chattanooga at the Chattanooga Billiard Club. Nick broke the first match, ran a few and missed. Johnny ran the rack out and proceeded to break and run the next 8 racks. Johnny ended up winning 11-1 and had a B&R on the last game.
 
They r playing Rotation, unfornately, Ronnie win.

Last year 8ball, it's the best tour, I ever c, coz Alter breaks which r the quite tough game, it means we can't lose any breaks, no kidding.
