I had a question about Wu. Who did he beat in the finals when he won the world 8 ball championship, and are there any stories of Wu in big money matches?

I have never heard of Chia Ching Wu playing big money games, but I have seen him play some $ 2000 action.
In November 2007 in Manila, I watched Lee Van Corteza being totally destroyed by Chia Ching Wu in 9-ball, race to 15, for $ 2000.
Lee Van had just lost 32-30 to Efren Reyes in 10-ball, for a higher amount, and that might have been some of the reason why he lost so badly to CCW also. But there was no doubt about who was the king in that match. Chia Ching Wu played awesome, on a super tight table with slow cloth.
I remembered he fired in a shot with heavy top-spin, and he managed to move the cueball to the exact spot where it could be, to get position for the 2-ball. No sound in the poolhall after that shot, people shut their mouths and just watched silently when CCW ran out that rack. An amazing player for sure.

Me and some friends of mine were leaving a bar in downtown Athens a few years back and upon arriving to the parking lot where our car was parked, we noticed a group of Asians dribbling a basketball beside the car.
When we got to the car we were shocked to see that it was Wu and his friends. "Assemble your crew" he said, and made a gesture toward a basketball goal in the distance.
So we hoofed it to the basketball court and played Wu and his friends for the title. After beating them down 4-2 in the best of 7 series, we all went back to the house and had pancakes.

No, it was definitely Wu. I have played b-ball with Prince before though. He has a helluva crossover.

In case you are still wondering Wu beat Thorsten Hohmann, Daryl Peach and Niels Feijen, coming from behind in all three matches. In the final he really struck form demolishing Nick van den Berg 11-4.
He had not played 8 Ball until he arrived in the UAE for the Champonship. But he sat devotedly in the arena watching the tactics and pattern play and picked up enough knowledge to win the title.
It's true, he never evre practice 8ball, he only read the rules by his coach.
I saw Lee Van being killed over $2000 in Dubai last yeat 8ball championship, Fu win over $2000 too.
But Wu never play, I also c a funny game, Core d shot and SVB Break V.S Ronnie Alcano.
