Rule interpretation

I used to play league in a small town that had their own rules. One of the rules I remember stated that bringing a cue over the armpit and attempting a jump shot was illegal. everybody just assumed that meant no jump shots but after playing in a different league after moving that allows jump shots i've thought back to this rule and interpret it different now. What do you guys think?

I guess they were banning the 'dart jump' but not regular jumps but who the hell cares what one little town did long ago at this point?.

I still have family there so I play old friends when I go back home. I don't really care either way, just wanted to see what others interpretations were.

Years ago the rules in our Moose League was the cue could not be raised above the shoulder for a Masse. Jump shots weren't "invented" at the time. Now it is jump shots are not allowed along with the same Masse rule.

I've never heard of that rule. Interesting. I assume scooping was illegal too.
