when storing your wood (hanging it) if its in a non insulated enviroment how could this affect it? im going to be keeping wood in my barn and in Ohio we go from ice cold to blazzing hot in a whim should i store wood in the barn where my workshop will be or should i keep it in the basement? the basement does collect a bit of moisture tho

If you can't find a place that is at least consistant with your house's indoor enviornment, than forget buying any wood...JER

A dry barn is fine, maybe even great, for storing, but before you work on it in your shop you need to have it in the shop for a month or more. For years, I stored maple planks in an attic in upstate New York and when I finally got around to using it. it turned out to be the most stable maple I ever used. Not one shaft in 200 ever showed any sign of warping. I could go from a board to finished shaft and they stayed straight
