Just want to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Brian Haynes, owner of Billiard Table Services Inc. in central North Carolina. I've been in pool table sales and services for 15 years and we're an Olhausen dealer. Reading through the site everyone seems like good guys and very helpful to each other. Hopefully I can be of help to the forum in the future. We, like most of you , work on all brands and sizes but I have access to any Olhausen replacement parts you may need. Just give me a call. Also I have a lot of new old stock Brunswick stuff from a bankrupt dealer we bought out a couple of years ago. I look forward to getting to know everyone. Have a great weekend! Brian

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Haven't had much time to logon in a couple of days. Went to the Martinsville truck race yesterday. That was pretty cool. A good friend of mine made his truck series debut there yesterday.
Rob, I use an 18" Starrett machinist level or occasionally my 12". Both seem to work great for me. Haven't had my 18" but about a year. I used my 12" for about 14 yrs or so. For a stapler, I use the ol' trusty Duo-Fast most of the time. I also have a Maestri a friend of mine at Olhausen suggested I try. It's very light weight and made in Italy. I like it pretty good but old habits (Duo-Fast) are hard to break, ya know. I prefer stapling my bed cloth although I do glue sometimes. Do you guys calibrate your own levels? I started doing my own a few years ago and now I keep check on it regularly.
I'm going to read through the other threads and see what's going on. Keep in touch!! Brian

Starrett levels are the best,a little spendy, but I haven't found anything that is quite as accurate.Love my Duo-fast staplers too.Welcome

We all seem to agree that Duo-Fast is the ideal stapler. Now if we just had an "unstapler" to pull them back out that fast and easy, right?

What kind of stapler have you been using?

I'll take this one for ya Donnie!

3m Scotchweld Light yellow

If I'm not using that, I'm using my Duo-Fast. Sometimes it's kinda hard to find the right glue on the road. Glen keeps wiping out the supply! lol

Welcome aboard Brian, may be in touch with you soon about some of those Brunswick parts.
I'll be in your area in a couple of weeks, and standing rule when I meet up with everyone..... I buy the first round. Then I usually gotta go!

I have one... works pretty well. Not as fast as I had originally hoped, but Brandon is what I call my "unstapler":wink:lol:grin: I never break a sweat!

Sure man, come visit anytime. Always ready for a round or two and a good burger. Call or email (or PM) a day or so ahead let me know when you are going to be nearby. I'm just a couple of miles off I-77 in Jonesville, NC. Simple to find. Find the Jonesville, NC 28642 post office and look behind you. We're right across the street

that's a good one Shane. Actually I use a pneumatic stapler. What I don't like about duofast is the size and how it cuts the cloth.

Hmmmm......... never thought of that. I have always used a pick and pliers (and Lee ) I see you have a green handle leather knife like mine. Trim bumpers with that? That's what I use and lube it with a shot of spray starch. Works for me and dries good too.

yeep

Yes I have..I like to use the long bladed utility knifes to trim as well..the one thing that the knife is used for most is cutting off old or bad pool cue tips for replacement.
Great tool

That's a great price. Can't buy it new for near that. I have (2) 12" and an 18". I could use a replacement vial for a 12" if anybody has one. I may even take that 12" from you when you get it back. Does it have the wood box with it?
