Some guys I know play wirh graphite cues and seem to like them. They bought them at
Big5 Sporting Good Store when they're on sale. I think it's about $25 then. Check your local WalMart store. You should try one before you buy it. You may not like graphite.

I know people like different things , but I could never get used to or even get a good stroke on the ball with the one cue like this I picked up at a place I was playing before a guy wanted me to hit some with it, but I didn't like it . I could get no feed back or draw like I can with a maple shaft, I t was just like a thud everytime I hit the ball. I sold the guy a Predator SP, I had laying around. And he could not beleive he said how a cue is supposed to play.. LOL. Then I seen the other day he was useing to hold up his hatch back.. lol. >>ED

One reason why I will never use a fiberglass cue again (i had a $30 walmart one and it was fine as a beginner player) is because you need the feel of wood to play your best as a more advanced player.
Cue tec is wood, pure wood except on the outside they cover it with graphite or fiberglass making it dent-less and warp proof

Those are not really graphite cues. A true graphite cue is actually very expensive to make,and that is just for a shaft.
I think what you are refering to, are cues with a graphite like look to them over a wood shaft.
A True graphite shaft has a very smooth fnish and glide through your hands like you would not believe.
As to the poster of the thread, a cuetech cue would suite you very well,like the new 360 shaft.
the 360 is maple wedged over a composite core
so it's not really wood and not really composite..
but it is certainly not Graphite...
the surface is wood.. and it seems that the OP is more concerned with surface feel over performance..
the 360's
seem to be a rip off of McDermott's I shafts
Allison says they are the best at controlling deflection and "DISTORTION"
so open question to anybody..

Well, if he's denting cues, he would be better off with a cheapo cue.
Maybe he should stick to house cues.
If your problem is that you are denting your cues, the solution isn't to get a graphite cue.

I had a Cue Tec with the fiberglass over the wood shaft.It was a fine playing cue but the shaft was always sticky. So i you need a glove when using this type of shaft. I did not want to play with a glove so i sold it and bought a Lucasi.
My mistake. I see in today's paper that Big5 has the Mizerak Graphite cue on sale for $19.99. Again, I have no idea of the quality. If you tend to beat up your cues, try one - I don't know their return policy (check before you buy), but if you don't like it you may be able to take it back for a refund. WalMart has a very liberal return policy and will refund anything if you don't like what you buy.
