Steve: Thanks for referring to me as "the kid" but if you look at my signature, you will see that this "kid" is 58.

And I do have a little bit of a run on video. Once again, the link is in my signature and it is a 57.

Later,
Dennis

Very nice shooting there !!

I Am jealous, and miss the days of having a Mentor ! But i am now pleased to be somewhat of a mentor and brother to someone else.!!!

All of my mentors have come and gone away, or come and gone to the great pool hall in the sky !! at least i got to enjoy there company, and sponge up some of thier knowledge !

----------

i would suggest to you dennis is to shoot with Ed as much as possible, and pay close attention. it shows here that Ed has a wealth of knowledge and he is a possible threat for 2nd and you in 1st in that tourney that you are having this weekend.

Steve : We were close to even in our match. Safety battle with 14 balls in rack. After we nicked the rack a few times, I found a dead one I blasted to one of the top pockets. All I then had was a thin cut on the rail. Cue ball comes off, kisses a ball and goes in the side pocket. He took ball in hand in the kitchen and voila. 68 balls later I come to the table again.

I did beat him the second game and then he showed me things for about an hour. He is a wealth of knowledge and loves to teach but my stroke aggravates him. It is getting a little better.

He is a definite threat at the tournament. He came in third to Larry Nevel and Bobby Hunter the last one he was in.

Today we also have some others who can play a little. Hunter, Cozzolino, Michelecs, Sr. and Jr., Jeff Mohl and whatever other surprise players might come by.

Wish i could be there......... Setup up the camera and do some recording !! sounds to me like there is going to be some good match-ups !!!!!

Somehow he reminds me of Freddy Bentivegna and George Fels, I think it's glasses and upright stance being the reason :)
Thanks for posting the run Dennis. Ed Latimer is great to watch, he is so fluent playing the game, ran 68 in almost no time. He is like a grand master, pretty much knows what he gonna do 5 balls later and why. And he shoots great too. Grabbed the cue with left hand and shot a nice draw for position with no doubt.

I guess he underran the cb for the second break of the run at 6:15. And was forced to shoot in the corner instead of centre pocket. Man, and look at that secondary break a minute later! Read about such a solution in Capelle's book and even practiced a couple of times but never saw in match play so far.

I wonder if it's only for Ed's skill or playing conditions like fast cloth and tight rack make it possible to shoot break shots at low speed and it still explodes the rack?

Great to learn from, could Ed agree to make a player review?

Very inspiring!
Not often to see a guy playin this beautiful game that awesome way. Stance like a rock- a wonderful smooth stoke- impressing rythm.
