Conversion Cues

It is most commonly used when referring to the old one piece cues, that were then 'converted' into a two-piece cue. Most often seen with old bar sticks...but now even more so with the old one piece Titlist cues that are so hotly sought after.
Personally, I do not feel that the term 'conversion' applies when a maker is using a pre-made blank, as there is not the whole cue to start with. I prefer to think of these types of cues as being 'completed' by the maker.
In the case of the Titlist Willie Hoppe cues...these are not 'conversions', as these cues were already made as a two piece cue. In this case, I think of these cues as having either been restored to their original condition, or as having been given 'face lifts' when they are prettied up some with inlays and such.

The Willie Hoppe Titlist is a one piece full splice cue. The Willie Hoppe Professional is the two piece model you're thinking of. The Professional was available with a wrap also. More information on these can be found here.

A true conversion cue is one that started out being Jewish and then converted to Catholic. :grin:
