i emailed him when it was on the truck to his house...he said he would watch for it.

36 hours later he calls to say the package never came..sorry

That's Sick! what's the guys az handle?

bobco729 looks like. But has several (more than 10) itrader positives and nothing but good comments. I guess its possible that someone stole it????? In that case, yeah, prolly a drop and run by the UPS man.
My friend ordered a new $1800 laptop from Sony. The delivery man DROPPED it on the front porch and ran back to his truck. Luckily my friend saw him do it and stopped the guy, made him sign something stating his actions incase any damage occurred.

And I agree, something w/ any value, you should always pay the extra buck or two for signature conformation....ITS WORTH IT!

Drop and run

I am the one that the package was delivered to. UPS said that the driver delivered the package to the front door and left it on the porch. I have never seen the package. I won't let Richard be at a loss on this even if i absorb all costs myself. I am only interested in keeping anyone that i deal with protected from a loss and keep my name spotless as it always has been. I think that a signiture should be required so as to eliminate the possibility of something like this happening. By the way GOOD MORNING!!

Very classy response! Kudos to you Bob.

I try not to use UPS myself. However if I must, I always add insurance and signature.

I know a freind sent a Cue with UPS, and Required a Signature when he sent the package, the Brown Guy left the package on the door step, it was lifted, and my friend then went throught HELL Collecting his GREEN from UPS.

Personally I use the Post Office as there service IMHO is better than BROWN

I agree, USPS is best for me because my Postmaster knows to hold all packages larger than the mail box for me to pick up at the Owings< MD. post office. He also always calls and tells me or leaves a message that there is a package for me to pick up. Thanks Cowboy!

I had that happen to me a long time ago and that is why I RARELY use UPS! Sometimes I have to use them and when I do, I cross my fingers...it seems to help.

It happened to me to a long time ago but i had signature but no insurance
I learned my lesson
Luckily it was only a loss of $650 but it is still $650
I'm still working on it and FEDEX says that the have a signature from the guy but my costumer did not sign it so we found out that the FEDEX guy signed it for him and the package disappeared ........................
Now I'm pressing charges on the driver for fraud and ................
Make shore you will use signature and Insurance on ALL packages its well worth it

What a bummer :(

I hope UPS takes care of this for you guys.

I only use USPS and they have not been perfect, but overall VERY good.

Always use Sig Conf or at least Del Conf, with INSURANCE!!!!!

Russ....

it was insured

If it was Insured, and dropped without Sig UPS is on the Hook.

According to obe1 the package was insured for $300.00 even though it was sold for $100.oo to me. I never saw the package or driver to give a signature to. We were notified monday of a death in the family and was at the wake tuesday but looked for the package both days but didn't have time to contact him until yesterday evening. I don't know what to think of all this.If it is infered that i have done anything wrong again somebody with one trader rating (given to them by me) might turn bright red. Bob

Just some info.

When I have anything of value being shipped. I usually have shipped at my place of employment. Thats the way to do it because its a business not a residental customer. I know UPS, Fedex, and USPS (without delivery confrimation) will leave residental packages without anyone being at home, just happened to me, but when its a business all packages must be signed for or the packages will be taken back and be delivered the next day. Also when you receive any package from a carrier MAKE SURE ITEMS ARE NOT DAMAGE! OPEN THE PACKAGE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE UPS, FEDEX, ECT... DRIVER. ONCE YOU SIGN FOR THE PACKAGE THIS RELEASES THE RESPONSIBLITY OF THE SELLER AND THE SHIPPING COMPANY. SO IF YOU SIGN FOR IT YOU ACCEPT FULL RESPONISABLITY. ITS EASIER TO FILE A CLAIM THIS WAY. TRUST ME I DO THIS FOR A LIVING. I DEAL WITH CLAIM ISSUES LIKE THIS EVERY DAY. Hope this helps. I know Country Bob is a good ole boy too!

That is a class move, Bob, but hopefully, the insurance part will help resolve the matter, although I would not bet on it. All the delivery folks make you jump through hoops to get your insurance money when something goes wrong.

Danged shame about UPS. They used to be the best, IMO, but their quality of service has just fallen off the shelf. Now, I just use USPS insured unless the buyer requests something different.

No worries with Bob. He will make sure it is right. I hope you are able to locate the package.

Check out obe1's post on the buyer/sellers transaction report, this is pretty stupid to me.
This guy is a real sweetheart! Well, i guess we'll wait and see if he has anything else to tell us about how WE should ship packages. Are you well experienced members learning anything from this gentleman?
p.s. C.C. it was nice talking to you.
