I just wanted to say thank you Mark for the great time I had with you over the 3-4 days we worked together, you were every bit the person I expected to meet. And to everyone in the Atlanta, GA area, you people have a really great mechanic in your backyard trust me:grin: I've never met someone that could ACTUALLY get away with having a load of production tools...ie; jointer's, planers, band saws and a whole shit load of other tools....and USE them...in an APARTMENT!!!!!!!!!...:rotflmao1: The timing had to be just right to turn them on in order to rebuild a set of Diamond 9ft ProAm rails....wait...wait, OOOOOKay the kid downstairs is crying turn on the planer!!!!!!!!!...wait...wait...OOOOOKay the kids upstairs are running around on the floor....use the IMPACT wrench....OOOOOOOOKAY....wait until the LITTLE kids walk by under the porch before I SPRAY the final FINISH on these billiards rails:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1: I had a really great time...and we WILL for sure be doing some business later on.

Glen

PS. And in case ANYONE was wondering....yes, he IS a nut case, but I get along great with Mark, so I guess that makes us both just a couple of NUTS!

you make him sound crazier than you Glen.

I know, it's hard to believe but I think he is:grin: We set up a pool room down there with 16 Diamond tables, lights included, rebuilt a 9ft Diamond with 4" pockets, recovered the slate using my glueing system, and over all just had a blast hanging out together. He really is a great mechanic, I saw quit a bit of his work and he really is a full blown table mechanic, with the skills to back it up, so needless to say...I was impressed after all the time we've spent talking on AZB and on the phone, that I finally got to meet Mark.

Glen, where is the new pool room? I was at the Pool Room in Duluth yesterday and was admiring the handy work on the GCV there :)

It's located east of Atlanta at 1211 Royal Dr SW, Conyers, GA. It's been a pool room since I think about 1989 or so when Roger first opened it. Chris Holt is now the new owner, and they've got action there for sure, watched some of it while I was there. They've also got the tightest playing table in GA I might add:wink:

i just posted a simillar reply to this in another thread but i think i bears repeating. i was at the pool room in duluth on monday night and mark introduced me to glen and i have say it was a cool experience. i spend four or five nights a week in the pool room so i talk to mark alot but had never met glen. the two of them took a few minutes to answer questions i had on the difference between diamonds and gold crowns and showed me examples of what they meant and in general gave me a lesson that was much appreciated. it was truly great though to sit back in the cut and watch these two look over the gold crown mark built for the pool room and talk shop. it was a very cool sight. props to two guys who are obviously dedicated to thier craft.

I heard Johnny practices on 4 inchers, but IIRC it's a GC, so it probably doesn't play as difficult as a Diamond. It may be his home table too.

BTW Glen, either you were hittin the sauce when you posted or you ain't right.

He's bringing up the rails for my Anniversary (he tightend the pockets) and finishing the setup this evening. Obviously, I'm very excited. Pictures to come.
