My wife who is a developing table mechanic and I finished the snooker table my parents purchased in Natchitoches LA. I posted a thread about his table about 2 months ago. I was told it is a Gandy but I am not convinced. I taped this 86 amongst a series of breaks that were better than 30.

Looks awesome. Are you sure it's 10 foot? It looks pretty small for a 10 foot table. Great job on the 86, next stop is a century!

Oh what size balls are you using? I believe that official US rules (10 foot table) uses 2 1/8" balls instead of the 2 1/16" (The cheapo set you have from me is 2 1/16")

I used 2 1/16. The table is definitely 10 feet, the camera angle is a little deceiving. The corner pockets are 3.5 inches.

Safety play is an issue, there is no such thing as a shot to nothing on a 10 foot table. I was reliably shooting in reds with the cue ball behind balk.

The table is a ton of fun, especially when moving it. :grin:
 
Well there are shots to nothing and shots to nothing. If you just play the cueball behind to behind the line, then I understand. But what you should do with a shot to nothing is try to snooker your opponent (in this case yourself) The baulk colours do cover a larger percentage of the 10' table so it should actually be easier to play a snooker. ( just like 8ball on a bar box the balls always get in the way)
Of course if you spread the balls out like you do on the video it gets really hard to play safe. :grin:
