Yankee Club York, PA Annual "Black Friday" Open 9 ball tournament November 27, 2009

Open 9-ball tournament on 4 1/2" x 9' Brunswick Gold Crowns with Simonis 860cloth. Same format as last years event. Races dependent on number of paid players in the tournament.

Held "Black Friday" November 27, 2009 Start Time of 12:00 noon
Open to all players. 25 dollar entry fee.
Players meeting at 11:00 A.M.
Club opens at 9:30 A.M. for free practice

This is our annual tournament and typically draws some talent of all levels of skill. We hope that this year is as big or bigger than past events that had up to 50 players.

I will be there Kevin , you can mark me down, I should be getting my new membership again soon , i signed back up a little while back , cause I dropped out after I got sick. I didn't get my membership card or key card yet though,I still got my receipt for temperary !! Pm me if you have any questions <<< ED

The payouts varry dependent on the number of players entered.

There is a player auction or calcutta.

It is an alternating break format.

The club plans to add 100 dollars to the prize fund.

All entry fees are into the prize fund. The club and or tournament director keep none of the money, it is all given back in the prize funds.

Races dependent on number of paid players in the tournament. Typically winners side race to 7 and losers side race to 5.
It is always a double elimination tournament.
You can sign up and enter the day of the tournament.
You must be on time to enter, if you are late you won't get in.

I have two more questions, this is a one day tournament right?? And also how many tables?? Thanks, sorry so many questions!!! lol
 
You didn't miss nothing at this tournament. They took 49 players in a tournament that last long enough with the 32 players on 4 tables. Then it depends on who you are , and how long you sit to get to play and who you play ???? Then a few of us sit there for over 7 hours in between matches and still don't get called to play after asking , several times but others are playing 3 and 4 times with in that time frame. When you aske about how they are setting this up all the lady says is we are jumping around so some dont have to sit a long wait !!!! Well I think over 7 hours wait for 3 guys I know of , and others have 3 and 4 games in that time is just rediculous.. They don't have to worry about getting anymore entry fee money from me. And then when you ask about waiting so long we were told they dont care if you leave they got your money ... Im done ,,ED

I thought about coming,,,, I am glad I didn't.... It is a 4 hour drive where I am from... Glad I passed...

If you read all the previous posts about this tournament you knew there was only 4 tables. You expected your matches to be shot back to back?

You know kid !! Thats a bunch of shit ! And you know it. You know what it come down to is certain ones get catered to and otheres that dont. There were a number of others in the tournament that feel the same way and played in alot more in at the yankee club tournaments before then you ever did. I went up to the table numberous times and was told they were just jumping around. I shot my first one around 1pm then waited like everyone else patiently as I knew there were alot of players. And yes I did lose my first matchup to the older guy ( Joe)that has won the tournament a few years himself. I didn't play (horrible) I missed one shot per game thats it, after some games running 3 to 8 balls a game. So dont say I shot bad, thats the kinda match ups I like not to draw a slouch that someone running the tournament matches me up against !!!! It's pretty bad when the person that has taken care of the tournament a few times himself doesn't want to play in it !! I know of alot of guys that were pissed and said they wont be back or if they do they will wait to sign up till the very end before the draw. Thats all Im saying, I sat there from after 1pm till 7:30 pm while others were up 3 and 4 times. I went up and asked about it and was told that someof the guys were raising hell about sitting to long, well I guess they weren't worried about the ones that were waiting the longest at that point . I guess us guys that are quite and dont go up and get in the middle of things are the one's that get passed over so I went up again and was told I was up in two more games , well every tables got filled again and it wasn't me and after almost 7 hours in between matches we were not waiting anymore. That was our decision to leave and we did I just will not donate anymore . And I know how the yankee club is and how many tables they have . I been playing in there for over 20 years, in various leagues and tournaments. And I dont think Im something Im not, I went in there just to play and enjoy myself playing pool. I had to learn how to do everything all over again including learning to play pool over again after a long illness and stomach surgeries and being in comas for months. So dont attack my game I put you out last years good friday tournament after just comeing back and only playing then for three months. I just stated the facts as I and everyone that was there seen them. Ask around you will hear the same thing <<<<ED
 
Dont worry about me buddy , I got my cash, I dont have to have mommy give it to me ... I make my point on here and my opinion and it all facts. So why you have to jump in and say Im full of shit.. It's clear over 7 hour wait when others are playing 3 and 4 ,,, come on now... I cant play like I used to before I got sick , but there is no way in hell you scare me . I beat you before last years good friday tournament. And you would not even shake my hand. Thats why this sticks in my mind , I just dont understand when guys act like that. You win some you lose some it's all part of the game.Im not going to get into a pissing match with you over this , I just said my experience in this tournament thats it, I been to lots of them over the years . Im just glad I can still get at the table and play , because I never thought I would be able again. I dont have to win every game to appreciate playing maybe when you get older you will see that ...
