sunday...Open Tournament

Just for the record. I will place in the money on Sunday. **** the bullshit. I am salty how I played on Saturday. I played way below my ability. That goes for the entire night. I will be on the map. Give me about a month or two. I just have not been playing like I would like too (as far a frequency).

Watches predicts Dunham to win and he does

Well the annual tournament has finally wrapped up just after 3 a.m.
Dustin Dunham went undefeated and took the guaranteed $1000
Jon Williams came in 2nd after a 2 and a 1/2 battle with Ron Omachi(3rd), Ron was on the hill and Jon kept chopping wood and both players got more than a couple turns at the table in the hill hill match. With Jon going on to face Dustin Dunham and it was a fast paced match Dustin 9-5.

In the Sunday Open Watches surprised the room when he predicted that he would beat AJ Clemens then did it, Watches hacked his way to the winners bracket final and was beaten by Rich Sager 7-0. Shortly after 3 a.m. Lars V. from Illinois beat AJ Clemens hill hill which cost me about $100 in auction money. As soon as Lars won, Watchez forfieted and took 3rd then Sager and Lars split the pot and auction funds.

After all was said and done, I was able to buy Part of Dustin's auction and Sager's. Made a few bucks on the big tourney and enough to cover gas on the chop chop we got to go to work. The race to 9 on Sunday protracted out the tourney and maybe next year Sunday's matches can start at NOON.

Otherwise, a great ran tournament by the Rail Gang.

congrats to Dustin (didn't he get 2nd last year)? and to Jon Williams. Have known both players for a few years now. Also congrats to Watchez for a great showing in the Sunday event.

Sick as a dog!

Damn....I am sick as hell. Some sort of viral stomach flu. Watchez was playing well in our match on Saturday so I am not that surprised if he played that well or better on Sunday. I saw Ron struggling in a match or two and I am glad he pulled it together. Congrats to Jon on the 2nd place finish.

I gotta get out and play more. This once or twice per week playing non-competitively is not cutting it.

Thanks Mark 'The Knock' Patrick and dgarfoot. I was playing good and just ran out of steam against Sager (not that I am suppose to win anyways). Then when you start to play bad you let any distraction bother you and it gets worse.

Anyways, I told you all that I was going to beat AJ 'The Mountain Man' Clemons and I did. He has never beat me (well I am now 2-0 against him). Afterwards, AJ just sat there without moving for 5 minutes because I put him in a coma.

Congrats to the Sullivan/Union boys - Dustin and Jon Williams had a great tournament. Ron Omachi, after 15 yrs of being one of the favorites in this tournament, finally hit the victory stand as well. In the Calcutta, I had Ron Omachi 3rd and Andy Hauschild 4th and pocketed a nice profit along with Lars as my only buy in the Sunday tourney.

All in all, a great tournament.

btw - I play once a week. Patrick, if you want to bang some around let me know.

Thanks guys! Dustin played well and definitely had my number this weekend...and if I had to lose to somebody I'm glad it was him! I figure after 2nd the last 2 years in a row he was due...lol

I had no idea my match with Ron lasted so long, neither of us played as well as we could have, I think we were both half asleep standing up...

Congrats to Watchez too! I'm still surprised you didn't ask A.J. to side bet on the match!!! ;)

How many entered the open tournament?

Player Auction Open Event

38 people

$500 1st
$200 2nd
$100 3rd

$10 entry fee. C players were free

$440 total in Calcutta
$290 1st
$100 2nd
$50 3rd

Yeah we could have split the auction money up more fairly. Since I had the 2 favorites and you only had 1 guy and the house sucked up the 3rd place auction since NO one bought the pool.

Should have pulled cost of the two players that split and then split the net profit, especially since Sager was undefeated and Lars would have had to double dip him.

That move only cost me $50 bucks, thanks to critter for dogging it against Lars. Then you could have got a side bet on you beating him again. Actually if you want to play him some sets race to 9 for a $500 a set give me a call.

I will save a lot more than that. Now through February.

Somebody did buy the pool (Jon Counts - oh yeah, I beat him too) - they just were not there when the tournament ended. They will get their $50.

I'll let you save your money buddy. AJ Mountain Man Critter Clemons can't beat me. I will however play YOU some races to 9 for $500.

congrats again watchez for beating AJ. Haven't seen him or you play in awhile. I'd say Jon Counts didn't do too well in the tourny? he's from around this area as well.

Counts in the money

I think Counts may have made it to Sunday. $$$

I was going to write down the payouts for the main event and order of finish for the 16 places but I did not.

I might consider it with the above weight.

I know he played in the Open tournament on Sunday...but I'm not sure if he made it to Sunday in the main event.

Actually, I think Watchez knocked him out of the Open as well...or at least knocked him to the one loss side.

Watchez must play better than he used to !!!

Jon you going up to Quincy this weekend for the $2000 added 9 ball event at Rack Daddy's?

Hmm...I might...for some reason I was thinking it was on the 12th.
I remember Dunklin saying something about it though, so I might.
You going up?

It is the 12th, time flys for me?

Only thing this weekend is Tulsa. Nice drive. About 5 hours the way I drive.
I am going to Quincy and hope to take Dustin up there if his S.O. will let him go?
