What do you keep in your cue case?

Having bought a bulky Justa Bridge recently, I decided to finally replace my old cramped cue case by a new one with roomy side pockets. When I emptied the old one, I was amazed by all the junk I collected over the years that I carry around. I meant to remove the stuff I never use, but it turns out I use most of it at least once a year, and it's stuff I invariably need when I don't have it :)

So what do you carry in your cue case?

Here's my list:

- Pool cue
- Jump cue
- Carom cue
- Billiard eyeglasses case
- Glove
- Magnetic chalk holder
- Pro Justa Bridge
- Moosehead bridge (I don't trust the Justa Bridge completely yet)
- Stopwatch (for speed pool games)
- Box of earplugs
- Shaper/scuffer cube with a dime and a nickel on a keyring
- Tip sharpener
- Tip burnisher
- Leather shaft burnisher
- Rasp/tip sander combo thingy
- Tube of Superglue
- Piece of table cloth (great to clean shafts)
- rubber eraser (to raise dents in a shaft)
- Steel wool
- Exacto knife
- Cue tip pressing tool
- Collection of spare tips of unknown origin
- Sticky dots (to mark ball positions on the table to train)
- dark blue, light blue and red chalk cubes (so noone can refuse that I play on a table of the wrong color)
- 2 oz flask of liquor
- Foldable ashtray

I may be in the minority but I have a 2x4 case with no pockets and I carry my playing cue and a j/b with 2 pieces of chalk (in there own container so chalk doesnt get all over)

its george 2x4...
playing cue, 2 ob1 shafts....

A cue with a single shaft

3 pieces of good chaulk
an old greeny scrubing pad that was worn out when I put it in there
a tip scuffer/shaper

and an old card that can measure shaft size ?? Don't know why I carry that.

As an old snooker player and pool room owner, I hate jump shots and don't think they should be allowed. Sorry, just my humble opinion.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who carries half of his house in his case :)

Folding Tape Measure

White Hole Reinforcing Donuts

Why do you carry a tape measurer? I can figure out more or less why people carry most of their stuff, but the tape measurer eludes me.

What's a white hole reinforcing donut?

Also, some of you carry a roll of quarters with them: what are the quarters for?

As an old snooker player and pool room owner, I hate jump shots and don't think they should be allowed. Sorry, just my humble opinion.

I agree with you, jump shots are hard on the equipment, they sometimes provide unfair shortcuts out of great safeties you worked hard to leave your opponent, and they almost require switching cues, which I think is wrong. But unfortunately they're allowed, so I'm not going to forgo the option of playing one if I need it, therefore I carry a jump cue.

What 'n da hell is steel wool doing in your case???!!!

It's very fine, soft steel wool, the kind that burns when you set fire to it.
I use it to clean ferrules, and once every year or 2 years, I run it on really dirty shafts.

1 Kenny Murrell Playing Cue
1 RAT-14 breaker
1 piece of chalk in a Euro Pocket Chalker
1 Willard

that's it :-)

I do my cue care at home and don't carry the equipment around. Btw, there is really no way to fit a Meguiar's #16 wax tin into a cue case ;-)

Instroke 2x2 case
playing cue with 1 shaft
j/b cue
Cue wiz shaft cleaner
1 piece of BD chaulk
tip pic

Question, has anyone ever needed their extra playing shaft while out playing in a pool room. Just wondering, in 40 years of playing pool, I have never lost a tip or needed the extra shaft. Tom

Since I almost play one-pocket exclusively, I only have an Instroke 1-butt, 1-shaft case. Besides the cue, I carry: A towel, 2 Willard shapers, a ham sandwich with mustard and cheese, a swiss army knife, a thermos of hot cocoa, a small first-aid kit, something to read while waiting on a table (I like James Lee Burke), a fresh change of underwear (you never know), and a condom (again, you never know).

Here goes:

When I was younger, I used to store a condom in my Joe Porper Case. If I look in that case today, I'm afraid I might still find it there.

Fred <~~~ got married early

guess you don't need that condom anymore. you should keep it in there though. some lucky guy might need one in a bad way ( you can charge him a c note!)

Scruggs playing cue
1 piece Master pre flag chalk
1 10"x10" piece of felt (holds chalk up in cap and use to lightly wipe excess chalk residue from shaft when finished playing)
